Even sky thought so and showed it again and again . visually unmissable sky said refs vision must have been blocked by a multitude of players.
I'd say Viv Anderson, reads game so well, has an elegance about him. Lindsay has come on leaps and bounds and last two or three months, keep them too and we could build something, most clean sheets in football league
Couple of times this season I have said he has been 'Ferdinand-esque'. There IS a certain elegance, as you say, and the manner in which he has on a number of occasions tackled a player, not just dispossessing him, but coming away with the ball and either running with it or making a telling forward pass rather than hoofing. Looks comfortable and confident (except that one flustered moment against Sunderland after which he quickly settled again and became his usual unflappable self). Class act! We really could do with keeping the defensive lineup including Davies next season.
I do not understand how no one picked him up earlier in his career and why he was playing non League football until fairly recently. We have been spoiled by some class defenders in recent years with Mawson, Stones and to a lesser extent Roberts. He is up there with them. I hope he is tested in the championship next season with us. If he keeps developing at the rate he is, he will be playing in the premier league soon enough. Special mention the Lindsay too last night - another superb performance - his goal saving tackle in the second half was brilliant.
Clearest penalty you'll ever see. Looked like the ref had a perfectly good view but chose not to give it. He was poor throughout the whole game imo.
