Zeki and Ben Williams will have come out of that game in much better shape for the next one now, there will be more opportunities for Styles coming up

Keiffer is the big miss , Woodrow looks a bit lost without him and is getting in no man's land just to get the ball instead if staying central .

And no goals for either.....again. 4th 0-0 result in 6 matches. Have we ever had such a run of goalless draws?

Our superb defence is keeping us in this, but our lack of a goal threat is going to cost us. Maintaining the unbeaten run is brilliant but we won't get automatic by drawing every game 0-0

Which LB did you want us to sign in the transfer window? I do think we should a brought in another out and out striker but I didn’t consider signing a LB to cover Pinnilos, Williams, Fryers.

Spot on mate... Our season is dependent on how Sunderland do in their run in.. our thin squad seems now to be baring it's fruit.

We probably should have signed a central midfielder. I can see the sales pitch now.

"Well Mowatt is my number 1, so he definitely starts"
    "Ok, would I partner him?"
"No, McGeehan is having a brilliant run and has really come on in recent games"
"Ok, no worries. So I'd be back up?"
"No, don't be daft. We've got Dougall to do that job. He's been out injured but when he's back, he's the back up. You'd be 4th choice"

I thought Zeki steadied the ship when he came on.
So many young lads in the team.
Overall with the loss of Dougall plus 4 or 5 key players missing very good point against best side I have seen at Oakwell

We would have won 1 nil if the officials had done their jobs. Pity TV evidence only applies for disciplinary offences.

To say Williams couldn't get to grips with Wilks is a understatement he was getting a hammering. Fryers contained Wilks much better when he came on.
I thought he was going to bring Jackson on to play the holding role when dougall went off but he made the right choice because like I said Wilks sooner or later would have scored or created because Williams just couldn't contain him.

Yep, When Doogs had to be replaced Stendell put Fryers at Left back to stop their winger who was causing all the early problems with young Williams unable to cope with him, Williams in the middle with Mowatt didn`t work for the rest of the first haif. Second haif the combo improved, then when a fresh Bahre came on after taking 5 mins getting up to speed Him and Mowatt started to pass and move between each other and then we all got back to being a side we recognised.

Good point in the end, thought some of the more experienced in the team first haif didn`t set a good example to those young uns gerrin a start.

When I saw Dougall go down I was looking to our bench thinking ‘what options do we have here?’ I was sort of thinking maybe Jackson on. But Fryers on to left back worked well, I was very impressed with him. I’m not sure what his contract situation is? I fully expected him to be gone in the summer but maybe there’s a glimmer of hope for him. Or it could just be one game possibly.

I agree with Ben Williams, he struggled in centre mid. I suppose he’s used to receiving the ball with all the pitch in his view, rather than receiving it with his back to goal like he did last night. We certainly improved when Bahre came on and with that in mind, I’d expect him to start against Walsall.

Definitely a good point given the circumstances. Let’s hope Walsall can do us a favour later but I’m not expecting much.

Yeah he does seem to often be better off the bench. I forgot that Brown will return next week so it’ll be Dougall out for McGeehan and Adeboyejo out for Brown I’m guessing.

I agree with you both. Have made the same point in other threads, but this was was about the performance of Fryers. I thought he did well.

Wilkes was their standout player for me. They looked for him every time they got the ball, and he was always looking to get one on one and beat his man.

I thought Fryers did very well against him on the whole.

The manager knows best and is doing a good job with his resources at present, no need for disrespectful language towards fryers

Good point. I sometimes wonder how clubs manage to sign more than eleven players.
