Got Leeds really rattled yesterday, never seen owt like it with about 7 players in 6 yard box, does anyone else think it would suit us,with Mowatts delivery,we need to try something new as can’t remember last goal we scored from corner

A few outswingers might be different

Our set pieces on Friday were dreadfully poor. Not once did I expect us to get anything from them. Something needs to change.

We are very poor from set pieces in general. We could try something different and it might work - it definitely wouldn't make us any worse. Nothing to lose.

If we put 6/7 players in 6yard box as soon as Mowatts foot strikes the ball the refs whistle would blow for a foul........ or am I being cynical

It appears to be one of the teams weaknesses unfortunately, we don't have a reliable executor of corners, free kicks etc, and although we have two of the best defensive headers of the ball they can't seem to bring this into attack!

Yep. Lindsay and Pinnock have been excellent defensively but they're about as much threat from our corners as I would be and Mowatt, while no Hourihane, isn't exactly poor at set pieces. If we had an Alfie Mawson to stick away a few with his head like he did in 15/16 we'd probably be top.

Especially when Pinnock got pulled by his neck.

But aside we vary rarely look a threat from corners now Moore is out.

So we are crap with corners and set pieces but we have managed to scramble 64 goals by other means

We used to have that corner routine , where we had 6/7 players stood in a huddle and then they peeled off in different direction . At least we should try something different , noticed cavare stays back a lot now , remember scoring a bullet header at villa other year

We could be better when our opposition take a corner too instead of having everyone back. If we put two or even three up towards the halfway line, they would have no choice but to do the same.

That’s a Stendel tactic though isn’t it. Didn’t he explain it that it allows us to break at teams when we clear it to try and exploit them on the counter. I’m sure it was at the fans forum meeting earlier this season I heard this from.

Just seems ultra defensive knowing when we clear a corner it's going to come straight back at us and put us under more pressure, knowing nobody is up the pitch to try and win it for us.

We’ve been pretty potent in front of goal most of the season. 4 blanks in the last 6 games though is a very worrying stat going into the final straight. Agree with the OP in that some variation to our set pieces would be a help.

In all fairness though 3 of those games were at top 6 sides and 2 were away I will start to worry if it carries on in the next 2or 3 matches though
