Not in denial spider, .just pointing out that others were at fault also. I'm not as blinkered as you believe. This was an attack on one player being at fault when others didn't do their jobs.
Ben Williams put in a block tackle with their player, the ball could have bounced anywhere but it went straight to their man.I thought at the time and seeing it again Ben was a little unlucky with that.
Williams B, Brown and Behre have a tendency to think that they can easily push it past an opponent who won't bother trying to stop them. They are wrong.
In truth the Referee was complicit in enabling them to score their first goal. He allowed them to take the free kick ahead of where the original offence took place and on this occasion, sadly it cost us dearly. https://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/11679732/barnsley-2-2-coventry
He didn't try to push it past his opponent though it was a block tackle and the ball went kindly for there player.More luck than judgement in my view.
I'm talking in general. But with regard to their second goal, blasting it against their forward's leg is asking for trouble. If that's all he thought he could do, he's not ready. There have been other instances. He's not ready.
He also ignored the blatant foul on Mowatt which gave them the possession for McGeehns much less blatant foul. Maybe I imagined it but he seemed far more ready to award them fouls than he was to us. And booking Williams was just wrong! ball to hand something he ignored at least 3 times when it was a blue hand getting hit by the ball. On one occasion when their player had his arm above his head. Several of the free kicks he did give us he also made us take from several yards behind where the offence took place.
That first goal confirmed that they took the free kick quite literally 5-10 yards away from where the foul took place. Secondly, I can't get my head around how the hell it didn't get blocked. Lindsay and Williams are right in front of the ball yet apparently it just went straight through them both. Bizarre. Second goal is a great finish tbf.
The lad simply can’t defend, he may be a nice lad, he may make a footballer in the future, but as it stands today, he can’t defend. I missed the first half last week, and listened to Sir Bobby going on about Williams, I watched the game back after the final whistle, sorry Sir Bobby I know he was you’re first signing, but you’re a little blinkered with the lad, at this moment in time the lad can’t defend.
In today's Daily Mirror, on the back page of the Sports supplement , there's a full page interview with Daniel by Mike Walters . Since arriving in Barnsley, Daniel has admitted he's developed a liking for a traditional British favourite food. They are pictured outside the Wetherby Whaler in Wakefield eating a tray of Fish and Chips. When asked about his loved ones he says "my family are in Germany but I am not alone here". When his Mrs joins him , he's odds on to take her to the WW and it's likely they will be the only Fryers she gets to meet during her visit.
I know he was unlucky with the bounce of the ball, however he got back into a decent position and then his attempted tackle looked like a poor audition for strictly come dancing
Every, bounce, deflection and 50/50 decision went against us. But that didn’t cost us. A combination of poor composure in front of goal and poor defending wide. The lad had acres of space and time to cross for first and watching the replay what I thought was a half hearted attempt by Cavare to close down was actually no attempt at all. Williams didn’t do enough and we have seen several times we are weak at the back post Second lad had a free run before cross. Williams could have done better with clearance and too easily stepped aside to shoot. Its clear in the last 2-3 games that teams have played on Williams and see that area as our weak link As for our shooting. 8 conversions don’t count in football.
