So mysterious it was out in the public domain for all to see and heard on Radio Sheffield. I’ll believe your version though as it’s easier that way. Let’s move on

George Williams wasn't shipped out. He was told he would have to fight for his place in the team.

He chose not to do that.

Come on. We all know now it was really because we wouldn’t up his wages from £850 a week to £1k. He left a Championship Football Club over a £150 a week squabble

I dont think the lad is ready also, sides are targeting him and even with Hedges helping out he struggled defensively, with Pinnilos surely due back soon that will strengthen us. The defence though was the shakiest we have seen them in a long time, Coventry weren`t much better either defensively.

Stendell played Hedges wide to help give young Williams more cover than he gets with Thiam.

I've only just had the chance to see the goals. Williams certainly needs to work on his tackling. He just cannoned the ball into the opponent on the edge of his own area in a 70-30 for the 2nd equaliser and I've seen him do that before. I would have been more surprised if he had won the header for the first and anyone can slip.

Brilliant debate, but play back the games, torn a new one against Donny, brilliant goal line against Walsall, but ripped a new arse before that, two goals against Coventry.
Back post header, first goal, he’s shocking wet lettuce springs to mind, ball drops does the penguin, runs around but doesn’t achieve anything.
Second one, hits the man, it’s unlucky, it’s not his fault, play the game back, Jacob brown comes across and says just hit it!!!!!!.
    Sorry guys hard yards.

I agree that the headline is a disgrace. Undeserved for a young player brought on to do a difficult job. He certainly was targeted and Robins showed his tactical nous by doing so. Don't forget that goal line clearance that saved us 3 points. Mean spirited and uncalled for thread.

Why do you think he was targeted?

The headline was written when I’d just seen the second equaliser live - having already posted on here that he was going to cost us.

Harsh? Yes. Undeserved? Well I don’t know. Probably. It was an emotional response to yet another poor goal in the game. I didn’t need to write that to make the point I suppose so if some take exception to it, I accept that.

I’ve made it clear on here that i fully support him, as all the players, and that as a young player - even younger than most of the rest of the team - he’s going to make errors.

But the clear point is that he shouldn’t be in the team at the moment. It isn’t like there weren’t warning signs. He was torn a new one at the keepmoat, and a cracking goal line clearance at Walsall disguises (to some) another poor defensive performance from him. It’s not his fault but he isn’t anywhere near ready to play as a left back in the first team.

If Zeki Fryers is fit then he must have shat in Stendel’s shoe or summat. I’ve no issue with blooding the youth but when there had been warning signs over the two previous weeks, he shouldn’t, in my view, have been selected unless there was no other option.

You say he shouldn’t have been picked but then proceeded to have a go at him. What’s he supposed to do once picked....sorry Mr Stendal I don’t want to play cos Troff off the bbs thinks I’m ****...what you really mean is Daniel F **king Stendal for picking him

Yep there’s only me who thinks he’s defensively poor and shouldn’t be in the side.

    Me alone...

He can and hopefully will be coached on, learn to be more defensively aware. But he’s not there yet.

I do agree that it isn’t his fault he’s picked though. If Fryers is fit then Stendel must have a personal issue with him as he improved the team at Doncaster and nullified the threat that they had shown in the first half hour.

I'm not going to slate a young player who, having just broken in to the first team, has played extremely well in the majority of games which he's started including a fantastic debut against then high-flying Peterborough and a Man of the Match performance away to the now runaway league leaders.

Yes, he's had a couple of situations yesterday that he could have done better with and if Pinillos is fit next week Dani will come back in but I'm sure Ben is a good player and will bounce back. He even did that in recent difficult games, playing well after being moved into midfield at Donny and rebounding from a tough first half at Walsall to subdue a good opponent in the second half who had had the better of him up to half time and even make a three points winning goal-line clearance.

Let's get behind our young talents please and help the team on for these last six games.

Fair play to the lad for keeping going, he didn't hide / make himself unavailable for the ball at any time. IMO He's been hit and miss and got a lot to learn but yesterday will do him the world of good in the long run. First goal he should have done better and he was a bit unlucky with the second as that ricochet could have gone anywhere.
I hope after the game a couple of the more senior lads put an arm round Williams and told him to forget it and move on.
As others have said, subject to fitness then Pinnilos should be back in the starting 11 next weekend.
