Yes! bought my first season ticket for the 1981-82 season and have renewed every year since then. £920 in to the coffers of BFC , I've asked the wife to transfer to my account ASAP her amount as payday is 2 weeks off, daughter is now 19 so a rise from £95 to £200; but Daddy will pay as she is a poor undergraduate! Does any body know how well season tickets are going? At one time I knew a lot of the people behind the scenes at Oakwell( prior to administration) Michael Spinks, Chris Patzelt, a few of the directors and Ruth who was box office supervisor/press officer was an old school friend, now especially with everything online you don' get to speak to anybody, it feels a bit remote and less of a family feel. Does anybody know what the director Robert Zuk looks like and what is connection to the club? is he local? is he a supporter? Just asking out of interest in my( and yours of course) football club.
Congrats Turbo. Superb dedication. I remember when we were in the Premiership, the ground looked to be full for every single game. It would be great if we could get back there again, because it would possibly attract some of our lapsed fans to hopefully re-arouse their interest and alongside loyal fans like yourself, take out a season ticket.
Congratulations and well done to you TurboTyke. It's supporters like you who have helped the Club over the years
Started supporting us in 80/81, season ticket for last 29 years. Just deciding what to do with my son's ST. He hopefully goes to Birmingham University for at least 5 years from the end of September. He's had a ST since 2006/7, and tbh I think it'd make sense to renew this coming season as he will probably get to enough games during the early weeks of the seasons and around the holiday periods, to make it worthwhile (he'd still fall into the u-19 category for one final season).
My first was 1980/81 but I had a 5 year lapse between 85-90. 2 years was because I used to work a weekend job when I was in VI form and 3 years because I was away at university. Renewed again in 90/91 after University and had one every year since.
Congratulations - well done. I can't remember when we went all-seater but I wonder if you've stayed in the same section of the ground over the years - same seat possibly??
East Stand opened March 1993, I used to stand with a set of "old Kirk Balkians" on the terrace south as it was known and then I moved to lower east back row where I was sat next to Pingsicola's Dad Then for the last 20 years Pingsicola the man himself!! On the other side of me various people including my youngest nephew til he went to Uni and for the last 12? years my daughter.
Robert Zuk is from Barnsley and is a supporter. I’m not sure whether or not he had a season ticket but I saw him watching matches in the East Stand lower on several occasions, long before he became an employee/director of the club.
"old Kirk Balkians" - heard about them - some of my relatives went to Kirk Balk many years ago - think one of them was transferred to Ecclesfield from Kirk Balk at the end of their first year.
My first was premiership season but started going in 78. Didn't miss many home games up to 97 but felt you had to have one then to get in
club should be giving discount for long service - what about 5% off ST cost for every decade 'served?'
