I like rivalry, banter, etc, but have never got the hatred. Being in music & growing up in Barnsley, Sheffield, Leeds, Manchester, Bradford, etc were places I went to to see great bands & later to play in a band myself, or to DJ. Always over the moon to win, especially in Leeds, as 90% of my mates can see me smerking. In Fleetwood I have a real hate club.
They certainly haven't endeared themselves as a club to me in the way Accrington/Burton have thus season!
I think you have to conclude that if a team managed by Barton that signs players with extremely questionable morals that they do that for a reason and will have to live with its consequences.
The response from FTFC has not impressed me one bit - very disappointing but they would have to go some way further to get to the levels of dislike I have for Leeds and Rangers.
I'm seeing some parallels with the way Sheffield United dealt with the Hume / Morgan incident. That took my feelings towards that club to a whole different level, a feeling that still endures today.
And some of their thick as pig s*** inbred fans giving the elbow gestures at their ground. It went way beyond banter and considering what happened was quite appalling.
Instead of a love in how about a hate in? Let me start it off. Leeds scum Sheff Utd scum Miwaaaaaalllll scum Cardiff sheep shagging scum Celtic and now Fleetwood scum. Beat that if you can
Can't see the 'hatred' thing myself. I think its misplaced and often induced by the actions of a minority. To 'hate' an entire club is over the top.
Ah.... think i suggested you had an agenda a while back regarding a large 'minority' of celtic fans? Here we have it. #ionlylovebarnsley
Hope they both lose. But as said above they’re still not on the level of hate I have for Leeds, millwall and rangers just yet.
Personally I had never knowingly ever disliked any rival Club. That feeling tempered somewhat during our one and only season in the Premiership. My mindset underwent a change at Old Trafford. The timeline was October 1997, when the score ended up Manchester United 7 Barnsley 0. It was bad enough that we suffered a hefty defeat, but our humiliation was compounded in my opinion, when after their final goal hit the back of our net, that horrible little gink Scholes went behind our net and with a massive smirk all over his face and held up seven digits in front of the United supporters and "mouthed" the word seven. I had never ever been enamoured by Alex Ferguson and his seemingly air of superiority and his unwillingness to pay his opposition any kind of compliment should they leave Old Trafford with three points, so it was easy for me to add Scholes to my list of people in the game that I disliked. From that day forward of October 97 , if Man Utd are on Match of the Day, Sky or BT, I always root for their opposition. Over these past few days, I've also been following the FA's progress in charging Scholes with misconduct for placing 140 bets over the outcome of some games over a four year period, contrary to FA rules, by dint of the fact that he was a co-Director of Salford City. I sincerely hope that they throw the book at him. In keeping with others, the list of Clubs that I don't like include Man Utd, Wednesday, Sheffield United and top of the list of course is Leeds United.
What comes around etc. As you say Scholes has been charged after allegedly placing 140 football bets between 2015-2019. Now we know why he quit so suddenly at Oldham
Nah I dont hate Wednesday - I like to poke fun at them and always want them to lose but for true dislike you need to look to the list from Cowboy (except I dont have any hatred of Celtic - or anyone else in scotland as I just dont care and we never play them anyway)
