Struggling for evidence maybe? Doesn't sound too good.

Nothing wrong with looking for further evidence- or maybe they’re just trying to proactively show they are working on the matter despite no arrest yet.

Could be the polar opposite. Maybe they have compelling evidence to back up one party, so they are giving the plea for evidence to support the other party.

We don't really know. And that's the way it is.

There's plenty of evidence surely, its right above the security box. There's camera's in the tunnel every game capturing the reactions of the players. Police officers and stewards are always in that part of the ground. Coaching staff of both teams will have been there at the very least would have seen everything. As said above I think this is SYP way of letting us know they're investigating the incident.

I didn't realise their CEO is on the fa panel.
Sounds a bit conspiratorial .....it's not meant to, just a fact.
I was discussing the same yesterday and was told Barton would be let off because of it. I replied it's beyond the fa, if the police are involved. Here's hoping south Yorkshire s finest can do him.

Seems a bit odd. Surely no fan (of either team) who have seen anything and would probably be biased. Is this a shoutout to journalists/media team? As every day goes on, I get more of a feeling nothing is going to happen.

Surely this means Stendel is pressing charges otherwise they wouldn’t bother to put out an appeal. This and the fact that we have put in a complaint to FA and EFL shows we are not letting this slide.

I didn't know there'd been an assault on Facebook as well. Bloody Barton.

Has anyone checked the authenticity of the post? It somehow seems implausible for a Police force to ask the public for evidence to something that happened in a private exclusive location. At the time of the assault, the officers at the scene should have taken details of everyone in the 2 dressing rooms and offices. Then requested CCTV footage from the clubs and other media from anyone else present,to correspond people's movements and location. Then speak to the victim and any immediate witnesses,to establish if any breach of criminal law has occurred. It would take 2 Officers, 30 minutes to do all this. If they didn't, then the potential for prosecution seems remote.

If you're interviewed as part of an investigation and the investigation ends up in court, I suspect many people would tell the truth, bias or otherwise.

You would hope so - but would people be worried about their working environment? (I'm thinking more from a Fleetwood point of view)

It's currently on the BBC website so I assume it is legit. Maybe they're looking for as many independent witnesses as possible. Most people in the area are going to have allegiances to one side or the other and accounts are probably conflicting.

I think any employer dismissing someone based on truthful evidence against a colleague would be in hot water. Anyway, most likely the easiest 'cop out' would be to say you saw nothing, I suppose. Hard to prove you did see something, much easier to unpick lies if you said you saw something that didn't happen. Anyway, here's hoping (a) Stendel is well and (b) that the truth, whatever it is, comes out.

In these days of social media and every fcuker having a camera phone, putting these kind of things out to a public appeal is par for the course.
