The Portsmouth ball boys were slow in getting the ball to their players for their throw ins.
However the very blatant obscenities Pitman used to one particular lad, was totally out of order.

He went over the hoardings and a Portsmouth fan tripped him up. Came back over ready to get on with things but other Sunderland players started mouthing off at the crowd. In his interview after he said he didnt want the bloke charged it was just what happens in football.

Both sides in their turn could have been accused of being rather " niggly". The way players
from both sides were mouthing off at the Referee really surprised me, especially when
he continued to tolerate such behaviour.

I was gobsmacked when in the second half, O'Nein blatantly elbowed a Portsmouth attacker
under his chin and then thrust his head sidewards as though he was heading the ball, which
had been cleared and connected with the Pompey players head. I thought he should have got
a yellow at the very least, but again, the very lenient Referee didn't take any action.

Ban the idiot for life. He also threatened to climb over the wall and come on to the pitch.

No doubt that the Pompey fan in the grey top stuck the boot in, given plenty of verbals to opposition in my 50 years going to Oakwell but can't believe anybody would do this.... easily identified and should be banned. can't blame Sunderland players for reacting.

Life ban and a hefty fine for club for me.....if this was one of our lads been attacked by their crowd, I'd want action.
They have crossed the line, attacking players.
Pompy should be getting punished big time.

Agree the Neanderthal fan should get a lengthy ban. Not sure it’s right to heavily punish Portsmouth. Not sure what they can be expected to do to prevent something so unpredictable.

Exactly, 09 had ended up virtually on top of them! Funny how when it's a fan swift action is called for but with Stendel nothing yet!

We are constantly reminded that a fan entering the playing field is an offence, as is throwing coins, flares etc (and quite rightly), so how about a little reminder that attacking player is also unacceptable.
Funny how action can be taken for other things but this looks like it's been trivialised.

I would hope no one needs reminding not to attack someone else!

But FA haven't done anything about Barton . The police were involved enough to ask 09 if he wanted to press charges.
