We keep being linked with out of contract goalies!
Out of contract probably means they will be happy to take a number 2 position....
So is Walton the answer? with a decent quality number 2 to push him..

D'ya know what, we've not seen much of him, but he's been working hard and watched Davies get better and better.

He's certainly deserved his chance. The few games he has played he looks like a really good prospect and has done very little wrong

Stendel gives youth a chance, look at Leeds they would have been better keeping peacock Farrell in net

Jack has done really well whenever he's played so wouldn't be against giving him a chance. Need some decent competition though if Davies leaves I would hate to go in with Walton and someone from the youth team. Davies suffered last time when he was left in the team when he was playing poorly.

They may be out of contract because they've refused to extend.

True, but not so good at Blackpool in the cup.

Neither was I. Our lass wanted leg over n' I was more interested in listening to Derek Parker on radio Sheffield. Really killed the moment.

He'll be number 2 next season, Davies wont be here. Think the club know that already as they're looking all over Europe for a keeper.

What about the lad from Scotland and the Exeter keeper? Are you expecting any of the players with 1 year remaining to sign new deals?

No way Walton will start next season as our number 1. I fully expect Davies to leave and whoever we sign to take his place in goal.

I agree we might have given him a go if we hadn’t gone up but I can’t see us starting with him as #1 in the Championship

I think we'll fetch a keeper in from abroad. The Scots lad wanted to go to rangers the last I heard. I cant see any of our players with a year left on their deals signing if im honest. Were owned by investors who will be wanting to cash in and fetch in the next option on the spreadsheet.

No I don’t think he is. Decent back up but with limited immediate potential still one for the future if he develops.

Lars' performance at Anfield was easily the best I've seen in goal for Barnsley. Keeper of Dreams is a great read too.

I think someone to give Walton a run for the shirt, a bit like that season, with Watson & Leese wouldn't be a bad outcome. Hopefully Walton can win the shirt in the long run. A clear number one is usually good, but it didn't help Adam when we didn't have back up last time in the Championship.

I’m not sure you’ve properly understood what out of contract means...

Shame I was wanting Cameron and pinnock to extend if Lindsay won't talk to us. Their values would go up if they hit the ground running in the championship and had more years on their contracts.

Mine was another Reds keeper at Anfield - Luke Steele.

And on that note, I'm sure he'd be available this summer. Perfect replacement if Davies goes for me.
