Pointless pointing out the uncomfortable truth on here that some folk would rather live off the rest of us than put some effort in. You’ll get accused of being a Daily Mail reading closet tory racist nazi brexiteer. Or you could just see folk for what they are instead of blaming society.

    Hes more than likely correct.

The begging is very organised and very lucrative.

I dont know how organised it is in Barnsley as i dont spend enough time in town but in sheffield its run with military precision.

I agree entirely, they've all failed us.
I blame Tony Blair because it was he who opened the door to the mass uncontrolled immigration he's now admitted he underestimated how many would come.
The fact is bosses can pay low wages because they know if you won't do it for that money there's plenty that will. I remember the huge controversy a couple of years ago when jobs at the big Next warehouse at South Kirby were advertised in Poland but not here.
We're no more than battery hens now, disposable and easily replaced.

I’m constantly driving round town I’ve seen these come out of the converted houses on Sheff rd into the polish shop then see them sauntering through town into peel square to hassle all the shoppers

Well at least he’s spending it on clothes and not spice because what I’ve heard is those on spice need every penny for it .

Is it the truth though? No one is denying these people exist in Tarn but it is often the exaggeration what’s the problem. How can you say ‘seeing them for what they are’ you don’t know each individual’s journey/story. Now that statement could well come straight from the Tory gutter press. Nobody’s mentioned Nazi or Brexit either you muppet.

I see a group of people outside the exchange shop on market Hill most days, they are usually not a nice sight, I have seen them fall- out amongst themselves but have never seen them hassle anyone else. This is the exaggeration I mentioned in another post.

Not going to trade insults mi owd, I know what I know, enough folk ( 2 on my street) squeezing every drop out of the benefits lemon while we go to work. Nowt wrong wi woman across street that cant work due to chronic fatigue syndrome who spends every day at the local stables where she keeps her horse. Mi original point was that dole doesn't now provide a helping hand whilst between jobs, its now a way of life for many who’d rather live off the taxes paid by others than go to work.

I don’t doubt you, but as I said earlier the generalisation and exaggeration is wrong and not every situation is the same. The ‘dole’ being a way of life for some people is not a recent thing though is it? There has always been this since I can remember. A big difference today is people in work are using food kitchens and require top- up benefits and generally struggle to make- ends meet.

And this is my point about the culture of shame, peddled by the press.

Are you a doctor? Can you diagnose chronic fatigue, and what is good for it, and what isn't?

I'm going to wager no, but you can gossip like a fishwife about whether or not people deserve benefit in accordance with your view of the world.

How do you know she hasn't been told that 8 hours in an office would be genuinely medically difficult for her to do on a daily basis, whereas a few hours outdoors (better lighting, fresh air, at your own pace) might be good for it? It sounds like envy - how happy are you in your job?

However, because she receives benefits, look at the language you use. She is a grasper, a scrounger, sucking the lemon dry. It's almost biblical.

There will never be 100% employment. There will always be unemployed people. People between jobs should receive the dole. People with medical issues should receive disability benefits.

A tiny minority will always choose to abuse this and receive handouts if the system exists, but I'd rather have that than not have a state safety net. What's a viable alternative? There isn't one.

A lot of people are frightened to go to Barnsley town centre - and I know of some parents who wont let their children go there -
    hence the popularity of Meadowhall!

Dole was used as an excuse in the seventies for not working. I know of one man who quite blatantly said that’s me done. When he jacked work in at pit. Quote “ Why should I work darnt pit and get as much for being ont dole wi 6 kids” Not a case of keeping you going between jobs. As for Those having a go at tykester. Read between the lines. He was in my view frustrated as I am of all the tarn knockers. Neither I/him or any others defending the tarn are saying there aren’t issues. Of course there are. But some knockers seem to get a pleasure out of making it out to be the depths of hell. For those offended by his **** off quote. Get real. I for one understood it to be in frustration at the knockers who In reality have nothing positive to say about tarn. When there are positives going on.

Says absolutely nothing. Coach shopping trips have gone all over england. From tarn and every other town you could mention.(FACT).Believe it or not. ( Not bothered either way) Trips come into Barnsley. Don't make something out of nothing there.
