Apologies for the non-political and non-football post.

I need some mushy peas for a party. I know I can buy them in small tins, but does anyone know where I can get a large catering size tin?

Horrible out of a tin. Lockwoods frozen bags are the way to go.

I think we all need to drill down into the real issue here.

What sort of party requires industrial amounts of mushy peas?! :)

To be fair supermarket brand bags are ok. When cooking add a little sugar, takes the tartiness away.

On a related note, I've instructed all our guests to refer to them as "Sloppy Peas" rather than "Mushy Peas" to avoid embarrassing my German wife. Without googling, anybody know why?

Wouldn't that be similar to us asking for 'Fanny peas'? Sure I heard a joke about that somewhere.

Peas are only Mushy in the south and they know nowt abart em. Sloppy is the correct term.
Should be a law that they can only be sold dried in a packet wi a tablet of green soda included. Tha steeps em overneet wi the soda in’t watter. Boil em up wi’in an inch of their lives next morning.
Serve wi pork pie, fish’n chips add vinegar, or if tha posh, mint sauce.
    Master chef? Nowt to come.
