1980 in Suffolk, RAF Bentwaters and Woodbridge, several ufos were witnessed, filmed and recorded by USAF personnel.
The whole debunking thing took over and it was downplayed as the planet Venus, swamp gas and the Orford Ness lighthouse, despite the high level of authority of the people that witnessed it.
There have been many documentaries about the incident, so many in fact that it has become so commonplace as to be tedious but they reckon that the new film will bring out so much new evidence that should make the incident believable.
I hope so, I'm very interested in this sort of thing and can imagine that one day something will happen that will make disclosure of the whole ufo/alien thing inevitable and necessary.

The study of ufo/alien/flying saucer stuff is fascinating IF you keep an open mind.
In 1947 the Roswell incident brought about the lightning fast development of so much technology, solid state electronics, transistors and then microchips, laser, fibre electrics, kevlar body armour, night vision goggles and so much more. Up to then we were effectively dinosaurs as far as tech was concerned. What we have now has grown exponentially way, way beyond what we ought to have, but Roswell and the study and development of what was found there has accelerated things beyond imagination.
Read Philip Corso's book "The Day After Roswell" and then compare what he and the scientists found with what we have today.
Compare Alan Turing's and Bletchley Park's first computer Bombe with a smart phone... apparently a smart phone has greater computing power than NASA's computers decades ago.
    Makes you think !

If you want to open pandoras box and something a bit off the wall around aliens watch terence mckennas true hallucinations movie on youtube.

If they want to know how ancient civilsations managed to work out things so complex and build pyramids etc without modern tech i think the answers lie in here. Probably why shrooms feature in a lot of their art and symbols. Its a bit mind blowing.

Correlation doesn't equal causation. Roswell happened just after the end of WW2 and nothing drives technological development better than a war. Those developments will likely have been driven by the war and emerged subsequently.

The power of smartphones etc. is just a reflection of ongoing advancement and Moore's law.

Yes. There probably is some form of life somewhere in the universe, but the chances of it being intelligent, being able to (and wanting to) come here is incredibly small.

And if they did come I'd expect the technological advancements to be way way ahead of lasers and kevlar armour
