Just read these are suing their former head of medicine for the costs incurred by being forced to sign Alvarez.
Not sure what they are really trying to achieve with this as can’t believe for a minute that even if they win they will ever get the money from him.

    Bizarre and a dangerous precedent.

Presumably he was self-employed in which case he will have professional indemnity insurance. Not sure he forced them to sign Alverez, that was the club's decision (in a long line of d!ck moves) is it because he failed to spot some problem at a medical? Straightforward negligence wouldn't be setting a precedent, blaming a Doctor for signing a bad player would be but I don't think that's what is happening here.

In a nutshell some issues were raised and he override them saying of no concern. They signed him on loan with a view to buy and once he went on loan the issues became apparent.
They refused to sign after the loan period, club & player sued SFC.
So SFC are trying to recoup.

Still their bad decision to sign him so hopefully it'll cost them in legal fees!

From what I've read the concern at the time of signing was about his right knee, and the doctor (possibly negligently) waved away concerns. He then suffered a separate injury to his left knee after signing.

If this is correct then I don't fancy Sunderland's chances

On a football message board. On a thread about football. On a thread about Sunderland. On a thread where chicken hasn’t been discussed. Yes I’d definitely think SFC meant chicken.
