Current form would see us garner 25 points with 33 goals for and 92 against!

I think Murray will be lucky to get as much out of these players as Daniel did though. They'll be sluffened the boss has gone, for one thing.

Yes, this. Less of the defending on the half way line with both full backs shooting forward at the same time.

I still fancy Jack Ross, but apparently not even had a sniff.

Yup, this is what I was getting at. Points projection.

Could go either way in January as well. We could strengthen or weaken the quad

I'm encouraged by some of the football I've seen and feel we deserved more from two or three games which would have us a few points higher.

I'm looking forward to seeing the team under a different coach who will hopefully have us harder to beat at least.

No appetite for arguing or making snide remarks at other posters or members of the board/club.

We'd been fortunate to get a goal on the stroke of half time at PNE yet came out trying to go for their throats second half and were obviously punished. It was barmy from a tactical POV. Let the full backs defend first, which we did on the opening day funnily enough.

You may be encouraged by some of the football we have played but that has been done using Daniel's high press tactics. Which has still led to us getting beat. I actually agree a more pragmatic "hard to beat" approach probably makes more sense. If we do that though I wouldn't expect to see any of the good football we have seen. And even if we did change the approach i still think we would go down.

Moreover, Hecky went more defensive with what he had left and people didn't like that either. He did at least keep us just above the drop zone until Morrass took over. I agree it wouldn't be enough.

No one will like it if we do that because its horrific to watch. Odds are you will grind out a few extra points that way though. The side Hecky had that year was a lot better than this one though and they went down. I think we are a lot more than a few points off. The only real hope incan find to cling to is if 3 other teams were as bad as us. But I doubt that.

That’s fair. I hope you’re wrong naturally, but something had to change from a tactical standpoint which was suggested by more than just myself in recent games.

It seems to have been missed that Daniel wasn't impressed with his squad. That maybe just maybe, they weren't doing what he asked them to do. The biggest criticism is of 2 centre backs completely exposed to a ball over the top with 2 high fullbacks. Well, he did drop Cavare suggesting he couldn't be trusted and that left us with extremely young full backs with less than 20 starts at a lower league level.

By tinkering with formations and making us "harder to beat"... are we likely to create even less chances? Our set pieces apart from Halmes goal have been dire, so I don't see us nicking many goals through attritional football.

The fundamental issue is that a pretty technically talented bunch of young players haven't got the games in there legs yet and the understanding only gained from competitive high level football. Confidence is going to dip in bad runs. And every now and then things may click. every now and then we'll get torn to shreds.

Abandoning a strategy coveted by many, given plaudits galore and got the fan base excited is one of the most stupid things these owners could do. They've thrown the architect under the bus. If they do the same with the style and process of identifying a coach that can play it... while fundamentally ignoring the reason its not worked, well theres no way back from that.

Let’s not forget that Flicker kept us up with a gung ho, attacking approach. Of course Flicker could call on the likes of Harewood and Scotland to put the ball in the net. Proven championship footballers
