i attended the funeral of my friend and fellow fan at Barnsley Crem today
The turn out was really good and the service was very good
Jeff Wroe was 66 and been a Reds fan for many years attending Home and many away matches
He was at Wembley for all our appearances their over the years. Jeff was a Fireman over thirty years after serving in the Navy for Five years
He retired at 55 from the service and divided his retirement between his love for the Reds, and racing pigeons with his late father and his son David. He flew in Jump flying club and was very successful over the years.
A quiet unassuming person he loved his family very much and was a real family man
The Barnsley FC Chaplain attended and gave a sermon for Jeff on behalf of the club which was much appreciated
The Fire service was there with two fire engines to give their respect.
A large collection was made for the South Yorkshire Ambulance service.
Jeff suffered an Aorta Anuerism which made the help of the Ambulance service unsuccessful
I know Jeff would appreciate everything they did for him and would have been chuffed at the support from all the Reds fans.
    RIP Jeff
You will be missed but not forgotten

Everything that has gone on since is truly irrelevant.

R.I.P Jeff, I know full well that the club and us the fans will pay our respects tomorrow. I will never forget that fixture for the rest of my days, truly devastating.

Respects to you and all the family.

RIP to Jeff. Our last away performance was shocking, but it was a pleasure to have been there for his deserved standing ovation from all four sides of the ground in his honour.

His minutes silence, accidentally turned into a minutes appreciation/applause.
I think it started with the Swansea players getting the wrong end of the stick and clapping rather than bowing their heads and falling silent, at which point, the whole stadium joined in.
Personally, I thought that was brilliant. Hope you agree.
Very touching tribute, even if it did go rightly wrong...or wrongly right.
