I’m sorry Mario that is a pi$$ poor thing to say. Unlike you (tight git) I did buy a programme and I can assure you that there certainly were the letters S T E N D E and I think I may have seen an L. They may not necessarily have been in that order but they were definitely there.
I wonder why that curious message isn't on the official website? I would have thought that something as important as that would be on all possible communication channels.
Dear Dane, please cut and paste... To all our Barnsley fans and community. Firstly i would like to apologise for the lack of communication on the recent managerial events. Unfortunately we are in a position where a number of elements need to be concluded contractually which limits the amount of details we can release at this time. We appreciate your understanding and patience on this. Regarding the appointment of a new manager we have placed Adam Murray in charge as head coach on a temporary basis and would ask everyone to support Adam and the current squad over the coming weeks. We will evaluate all our options in appointing a new head coach from either outside or from within the club. Current potential candidates are being evaluated. This will take some time and we hope to update everyone within the next week on status. We would like to go on record of thanking Daniel Stendel on behalf of the club, players and fans for his hard work and the success achieved with promotion last season. Right now lets all get behind the team and club and be united in supporting our team.
You've been doing Word Search on P 36 I reckon - the letters S T E N D E L there but alas not in that order - I think that's the nearest he'll get to a mention!
I am still in utter shock at all this. This statement only worsens my opinion of the owners. I didn't go yesterday as a personal protest. Desperate for the team to do well as ever. Do they know how much we care about our/their club? A mess.
What if the deafening silence were nothing to do with Daniel Stendel? What if the owners were reviewing their involvement in the light of the evidence currently pointing to it not being adequate to achieve their stated aim of stability in the Championship? Some will jump up and say "there isn't a queue of potential buyers". But what if you'd just made a sizeable profit from involvement in another club and you were prepared to write off any loss in order to get out? Not saying it's likely, but can anyone say it's impossible?
I think you may be on to something here. No source, no evidence, just a feeling. Sincerely hope it's true.
There didn’t seem any evidence of a mess on Saturday, on or off the pitch. The team looked the best it has done since the opening day and there looked the usual size crowd with the fan zone packed out and lots of smiling faces and a decent atmosphere inside the ground by kick off. I’m not sure that is in any way down to the ownership, probably more credit to the professionalism of those involved but it genuinely was a really enjoyable afternoon for me spent with good company and I for one bought a few beers in the fan zone and got speaking with the trust lads and I grabbed a programme and even a fanzine from a chap who posts on here but his name escapes me. I know it’s each to their own though and I’m not one to tell others how to go about their business. Maybe that’s why I’m not as affected also.
I’ve not even looked at the highlights and can’t say I’ve any interest in doing so. this weekend has been an acid test for how connected I feel to the club. turns out I’m not. well done Conway et al. Fan disconnectors
I'm afraid you'll find that to be a temporary phenomena. You'll have no choice but to return to the fold - it is not an option. Think of it rather like being given a Heroin injection at the age of four. It's in your blood and you can't ever get it out. Relationships, jobs, education, family - they all come and go to an extent but that injection means you can never get away from the Club - no matter what levels of abuse or general incompetence you have to endure. I'm sorry. But that's just the way it is.
