First thing he does is impose himself physically shielding the ball while the team regroups after a corner. Good lad.
His mum was sat in front of me, was a pleasure to watch her pure delight and proudness she had for him
On the evidence of yesterday’s albeit brief performance, some way off being ready for the first team. Didn’t look strong enough to play with the mesters. Not saying he doesn’t have potential but doesn’t look ready yet. Good on Kenny D for talking him through it and telling him what to do and where to go
Still looks really raw (obviously, thats not knocking the lad), some good touches and put himself about a bit. Its hard for any player to impose themselves on a game with only a few minutes remaining but it was good to see him out there.
I thought he did OK and not sure why you think he isn’t strong enough. I agree he probably isn’t ready to start yet but I thought he did OK in the time he was on the pitch
Never understand the "mesters" thing, footballs changed since the days of dirty Leeds. In 10 years there will be hardly any slide tackles and it will be a game of skill judging by our young uns under 8 games.
It's a boost for the U23 lads as a group. Imagine, from their point of view, looking at the likes of Thiam and Pinnillos putting in half hearted performances and not getting a sniff themselves.
Thought he played well and was unlucky not to get an assist for when he set up the Woodrow effort that went just wide of the post.
Tackling is a skill in itself, of course. Unless you win the ball, you can’t display the other skills. There’s much more to football than fancy tricks. But even the most skilful players have physical strength to ensure they don’t get knocked off the ball whenever they have it.
Go back and look at Michael Owen when he made his debut against Wimbledon for Liverpool, he looked a proper boy and he didn’t do bad as a young un either.
That's how I read it.. Don't know why we didn't bring Luke Thomas on instead, been one of our better players this season for me.
This was a deliberate statement by Adam Murray! and fair play to him for doing it. Might send a message to Thiam and co to do more in training
Not knocking the lad he came on and ran about a bit but its another damning testament to how paper thin our squad is and how much we are lacking in options upfront. A big 6ft 4" striker would have been nice.....
Bit ridiculous for a wide player to have so many yellows at this stage of the season. Somebody needs to sit down with him and give him some advice. An older head, perhaps
