Uncalled for. No lack of effort from the players - just too young, too inexperienced and lacking any leadership and guidance.

Losing 4-1 at home to the team (before today) at the bottom of the table - really seems like they're putting in the effort today.

There’s no lack of effort just a lack of ability to play at championship level. All the trying in the world cannot hide that.

They did, summed up by Thomas’ sprint to prevent a 5th when he could have easily not bothered.

How can you say that??? You've never seen most of them play in league 1.

Plus the way its being run at the minute 75% of them will be sold/leave in the summer if (well.... when) we are relegated.

Can never fault these kids for lack of effort...ever......just out of their depth. Totally and utterly out of their depth, i actually feel sorry for them, these players should be learning their trade in another more forgiving league.

Experience does not stop you getting the basics right. This squad can barely string two passes together and thought they could beat Stoke at their own long ball game. They cannot shoot properly and get taken off the ball that easily that it makes you think they are thinking of January and do not want to get injured.

We’re just sh*te mate. Not a general lack of effort by the players but they’re just not good enough.

    Most did.

Cavare was strolling around at one point. Wilks might as well have stayed on the bench.

My view falls somewhere between these polarised opinions.
Take Sheffield Utd in the Premier - individually they ought to be massively out of their depth but they manage to put in a gigantic effort every week. Occasionally even that isn’t going to be good enough but you can easily see them stopping up.
I fully agree that the blame doesn’t lie wholly with the team but I didn’t see 11 players dying for the cause today.
With the right leadership on and off the pitch maybe six or seven of those available today could pull us through but I don’t see anything happening to change the situation for this season. - the writing is already on the wall I’m afraid.
    Btw - I’m usually a Happy Clapper!!!

Can't blame team first goal error from Collins 2nd goal debating if penalty or not we get back to 2 one back in game then another debatable penalty if goes out way could been 2 each n they were wobbling third goal poor marking n 4th goal nobody stopping that one so all in all wernt much difference in teams except wage bill n there manager on 30grand a week

The first goal was going to be vital . We needed to press from the off and we didnt. Stoke were nothing special but today I think they were better organised and wanted it more. Their board grasped the nettle after their shocking West Brom performance and got a manager in.
