Between now and January. 9 points from 9 games would leave us on 18, with an outside chance of avoiding the drop if we appoint a real head coach and spend appropriately in the transfer window. Not holding my breath.
Imo I think we are incapable of that with our squad tbh. We have defenders that won’t or can’t defend and prone to individual mistakes . I don’t know what the answer is and I suppose we could give it a go but with our defence as a squad without any sort of outlet would cave in . snd yes you could say that’s what’s happening now anyway so come on January .
http://barnsleyfc.org.uk/threads/will-we-win-another-game.285146/#post-2378644 See my thread from last night and predictions up to the end of this year. I'd love to be wrong but I've got us down to draw three matches andlose the rest. Stendel was criticised for not changing the formation and trying something different a few weeks prior to his departure. Well, Murray has tried the 3-5-2 people were asking for and that's not worked either. Only option left is to park the bus, go really negative and try to nick a goal from a set play. Perhaps we should give this a go for 4/5 games and see how we get on. The key thing is cutting out the large amount of stupid errors per game. It won't matter what formation and tactics we employ if we give teams at least 2 goals per game.
Parking the bus won't cut out the silly individual errors that are costing us a couple of goals every game. All it will do is restrict our own chances of scoring. And it's bad enough watching tripe that tries its best, without having to watch dull, boring tripe that stays in its own half for 90 minutes.
At set pieces we have everyone back in the box bar one attacker and still can't defend. Yesterday Halme crashed into McGeehan, they both fell over and Stoke scored their third goal. Keystone cops defending. Parking the bus won't help...
For me I would like Ian Holloway as manager not the best football to watch but a good manager with experience of the championship
Not for me. If we are picking out of work managers who won’t come I’d go for Pulis but there is no chance we would offer it to him and even if we did no chance he would take it
I reckon it would take more than one bus.... Maybe a fleet of Trackies would do, and even then I would be doubtful
just think what you have just said..... the owners for some bizarre reason just do not like anything to do with experience.... its been shown with the players recruitment and the managers they have employed.... we will be in the conference within the next 3 years if these tossers remain in charge.
We don’t have any good defenders or even defensive midfielders, I can’t see how we could even employ that style if we wanted. We also aren’t good enough to play football against teams in this division and get wins. Until these owners move on I think we should all get used to this endless pointless cycle
