Because he is a club legend with an appalling managerial record that most would hate to see ruin his reputation at the club. He categorically would not turn this situation around, rather have someone I don’t care about fall on their sword.
We're not recruiting managers we're recruiting a coach to oversee a group. I don't think anyone can turn it around either.
There’s definitely a lot lining up to suggest it’s true. He posted a classic picture on twitter too. Damn shame if it happens, mind. When you look at his managerial record if he had been anyone else (unconnected with the club) would you want him.
Doesn’t matter who gets the job. The players aren’t good enough for the league they are playing in. Some will be in 2 to 3 years some won’t ever be. It’s not their fault though, it won’t be the managers either.
Exactly. Nothing to lose and everything to gain - a uniting figure, someone who cares & understands the place & lets not forget one with a very good record coaching at Leeds. Redfearn & Eaden. Dream team.
You’ve either lost your mind or are trolling. He had 33% with a good Leeds team, 23% in a more comparable role at Rotherham, 0% at Northwich, 20% at Scarborough. The only outcome of his appointment is the tarnishing of the reputation of a legend.
The romantic notion is great. The realistic one is it’s another disaster but can’t be any worse than what’s going on at the moment.
'A good Leeds team' In pure disarray under Cellino, bringing through the young lads he'd brought up through the club & launching careers before being sold down the river. And, as I keep saying, we're after a coach not a manager so all facts/figures of his past 'management' roles means nowt.
I really hope not. I cannot sit in the Ponty and hear someone slag-off Neil Redfearn. I just can't. I'll go batshit mental.
