Macclesfield the next club looking in trouble with players not been paid etc. Two questions spring to mind 1) When will the EFL start to get to grips with this issue properly? 2) How the **** can Macclesfield owe Sol £180k, surely a manager at that level can’t be on that sort of money?
Honestly don’t know, report on BBC just said it was owed, perhaps as Django said a survival bonus. I just think you have to question how a club of the size Macclesfield can justify that sort of money to a Manager, having just done the sums it’s a years salary on £3.5k(ish) a week, which doesn’t sound that extreme.
I think he quit because he hadn't been paid for months. Had he been sacked by them with the length left on his contract he'd have been owed way more. He wasn't there that long so it's crazy he's owed so much. Whilst he's pulling off the miracle of keeping them in the league they will have stopped paying him pretty quickly in his time there.
Football is blinkered. The EFL have never looked after lower league clubs Agents ripping 500 million in fees , footballers awash with money, millions paid out on players mostly from abroad. Yet the grass roots clubs struggle in this sort of set up. They provide young players from the rank and file in the country. The top clubs get them off them for peanuts, yet put peanuts into these type of clubs to help them Supporters of these low league clubs think just as much of their club as do the Premier clubs fans Football has never really change with the times and even Rugby can teach them a thing or two Corrupt top to bottom Biggest money laundering set up in world
