What should I expect to be paying for a boiler replacement? Combi boiler, easy simple access, one day job. Labour cost only (I've a rough idea how much the boiler itself will cost).

We had a straight swap, standard boiler and it cost £330, this was around 5 years ago.

When I swapped my boiler it cost me an absolute fortune.
Mind you, it was my own fault,,,,I should never have married her in the first place!!

Don't know how many rads you've got. Need to be looking at a Worcester Bosch Greenstar really.
Typical ball park fully fitted, should be circa £1,800- £1,900. BOXT guarantee beating BG on any
quote. Give them a try G&TB.

Agree wholeheartedly with Donny Red...pensioned my 24 yr old Worcester off last year, apart from a couple of recirc pumps it never missed a beat.

Just got an updated quote on BOXT for a Worcester Bosch Greenstar Combi. They quote £2395.
I would envisage the labour only cost of the installation would be circa £ 350- £400 ish.

We've had ours circa 4 years and never let us down until Christmas when the manifold went
causing a major leak. Fortunately we have a policy with CORGI, so all it cost to get it repaired
was the £50 excess. They were brilliant. They were at the house an hour after we reported
the fault. They had to order the part from Bosch. Once they had that, the repair took two hours
    tops.

Just seen this on Screwfix's website; so that's just short of a grand to fit.

I bought a cheap boiler years ago, from Wickes I think, Waste of money, it broke after about 18 months and no one could get any parts. I bought a proper boiler to replace , and been trouble free. My advice,,, give Screwfix a miss, get a good one in the first place.

See if Screwfix will give you three or four numbers of plumbers that buy gear from them.

Worcester Bosch are one of the best boilers on the market. I agree, there are cheaper versions on the
Market that need to be avoided at all costs. From memory, Glow worm boilers are also good quality
    boilers.

IMO get German. Preferably a Weimar they're the dogs whatsits, only drawback they are bloody expensive. Other than that Valiant, Worcester, Bosch are all good and similar and they usually come with a 10 or 12 year guarantee.

"Weimar", do you mean Weissmann? An internet search for Weimar Boilers leads down an entirely different path from where I want to go.

    Try SafeGas based at Wetherby.
Great service and a fairly local company.
They do a service package as well

Between £1850-£2200, that would be for a worcester/vaillant.
Depends on what controls you currently have and what you’d like?

Every plumber has their own favourite brand to fit.
Ideal Boilers (Logic, Vogue etc) used to be ones to avoid, but are spot on now and some fitters can even issue a ten year warranty on them.
Viessmann, as mentioned above are top notch. German, mind, so to be expected.
Worcester are spot on, though top heavy on price.
Baxi, also very reliable and a tad cheaper than all the above.
But if you don’t have a fortune to spend, Alpha boilers are ridiculously sensible on price (literally £500+vat for 33kw), 7 year warranty and very reliable.
Ultimately there are only so many gas valve manufacturers in the world, and pumps, and PCBs etc, so all boilers are just a combination of these components chucked together in different branded casings.

Was recommended and just bought a Vaillant with a 10 year guarantee, providing that it's serviced annually at £90.
