    Did anyone read it.
He said he used to go to Oakwell with his dad and watched sub-standard football.
That must surely have been in the McCarthy / Glavin era.
And while watching Barnsley he was always a Sheffield Wednesday fan.
David Hirst owes Barnsley Football Club everything he achieved in football and probably many things beyond that.
And now is just an embarrassment for the town.

You've read it wrong. That's someone who likes David Hirst. Not David Hirst himself

Quite right. It looks like it was written by Alex Miller about Hirst. Nudger might have been alerted to the fact that in the article the writer says he was just 5 years old at the time of the transfer.

    Looks like it. So apologies.
When I Initially looked at the report it took me to near to the bottom of the piece.
I read a short bit of it and couldn’t stomach the rest.
Obviously I thought it was talking about Hirst himself.
Why should it be talking about just an ordinary supporter.
But that in itself throws up another question - why would anyone at the Star Newspaper write a report about just an ordinary supporter (probably from the Barnsley District) changing their allegiance from Barnsley to Sheffield Wednesday !?!?!
    Why ?
Unless of course that newspaper is doing all it can to portray Barnsley Football Club in a certain light while trying to depict how brilliant it is at Wednesday.
Another story, and there are thousands out there, of how a football supporter from Barnsley went south to Sheffield.
    Told by the Sheffield Star.

The problem with that backtrack is that the part about sub standard football us near the top not hear the bottom of the piece and the bit about Sheffield Wednesday is quite a way in.
Just like your bike ride round Barnsley that allowed you to take in information at lightning speed I call ******** on this too
