Just heard of a teenager in Barnsley being fined £250 for being out without a valid reason

Police also turned up on my mum’s street to force all the kids playing out inside and fine the parents who allowed it

If the teenager was out on his own it could be classed as exercise. Not sure I get that one...

I saw it this morning....I'm not sure the police have the powers to fine £250.
According to what I've just read.... £30 fine....more for non payment but you'd be looking weeks away for that to happen.

It’s the idiots that should be taking it seriously- the police should just be helping them to. For goodness sake, how hard is it to understand?

I've just walked into Leicester city centre and back, a round trip of about 45 mins, and didn't see a single uniformed police officer. At least Barnsley's police are taking it seriously...

    You can't divide £250 into £30 each.

So it can't be fair enough.

Secondhand account so probably 240 rounded up to 250 in the gossip. Respectable people who happened to know the numpties, so I believe them.

    Benefits

Food bank and then flogging it on.

    Some good old fashioned muggings

Or popping your back window and lifting what they can flog. I’d not fancy living around Holden House right now.

The fine is £60 and reduced to £30 is paid within 14 days for first time. Then doubles for repeat, and again. If not paid at all results in magistrate court at some point. The very very sad thing is that Police are trying to save people’s lives and ASKING groups to disperse and follow rules that will save lives.... there has already been several cases where these groups / yobs are coughing at and SPITTING at officers - and then laughing... this is nothing to do with politics, nothing to do with Cuts, this government or any other ... its total lack of respect in society of decency amongst too many people, who feel they can do what they want and say “it’s because I’m under privileged “ and blame everyone else.
