Obviously greater things are important but I’ve just read the FA have cancelled all step 3 and below, realistically we’ve no chance of finishing our leagues.

Clubs have players out of contract, loan players, a whole heap of issues about match fitness etc before you’ve even got into an area where this virus has been totally eradicated before you could play and sport or organize gatherings.

I think the FA have taken the decision today as step 3 and below have less financial clout to complain but it also gives those clubs the freedom to release those players out of contract and put the players in the hands of the government ref wages and pay.

the premier league, EFL, and National leagues have 3 choices now I guess

Play games no matter when or where
award places as they are now based on average points
    Cancel and expunge all results

There's really only the third option in my view.

They've done same to ladies , top of the table , points clear, nothing to show all results expunged.

I thought the plan was to maybe promote those at the top of each league and do away with relegation. This would increase league sizes for a year. Then cancel Carabou Cup to make room for the extra fixtures. At the end of next season relegate x number of extra teams.

Not sure what to do about playoff teams though ml

Good film on BT Sports " The Gaffer". Features the Managers of a number of non League Clubs
re- Bromley, Maidstone United, Harrogate Town etc. I don't think it will be long, before a number
of these Clubs will really start to struggle as its bad enough trying to manage financially when
they are playing their games, let alone now.

Great to see one of my favourite Reds ever, Craig Hignett, when he was the Manager at Hartlepool
United. Showed a clip of him in the play off final for us at Wembley against Ipswich Town.
He was watching his charges taking penalties and laughed as one struck his kick high, wide and mighty.

Higgy then stepped up and effortlessly chipped the ball with unerring accuracy in the gap to the right between
crossbar and post. Nuff said, you never lose it.

read this a couple of days ago - think a number of clubs have joined forces to object on legal grounds ??? to the decision to wipe out results.

Even the greed in football should accept that sport comes well down the list of importance when thousands of people are dying. Cancel and start again, have some humanity for Gods sake!! Lawyers are rich enough.

Imo I think that’s what will happen tbh.
If Airlines can just cancel flights and leave people stranded I’m sure same will apply to sport.

Wait how long? 6 weeks would be an option, but 18 months or even 2 years is a possibility.

What do you reckon will happen with the 92nd football league spot? There's a gap where Bury used to be, and Barrow have been the best team in the National League this year - give them the spot I say!

If we are all still locked up in 18 months and not allowed near people then the world has collapsed and in all honestly you're probably talking about billions dead from the effects.

    A scary thought really

certainly an option, possibly the least favoured but most plausible?

...and despite all that, we'll still be waiting for Bolton Wanderers to go bust.

If we’re in lockdown for 18 months or 2 years it’ll hardly be worth surviving. The world would be a desperate place.
