This was always on the cards for me, those willing to pay more would be able to get a restricted amount of seats.

I hear what you say but surely 25% of hate income is better than nothing. It’s the only way clubs like ours can get some money in.
I actually mentioned this as a possible solution a few days ago. Only fair way to do it would be to sell STs for a smaller number of games so that everyone gets a chance to see at least some football. Be hard to organise but I think it’s a decent idea.

Season tickets only, throughout the whole stadium (inc. away end)

Makes sense to me. Better than nothing for the clubs.

I won’t be going, but I can see why clubs would want to.

If I’m restricted I’m afraid that’s me done and two junior ones too.
I don’t see why a selected few should be able to watch games .
If we’re supposed to be on it together then we’re in it together .
I get that some income is better than none as far as club is concerned but that’ll not suffice when some fans are locked out in favour of others imo.
It may not matter to the club that I and maybe a few others take this stance but it’s immaterial to me because once I’ve turned my back on the club for such a stance I won’t bat an eyelid to whatever offers in future .
Watched the reds since approx 1965 not missed many home games since ST holder since about 2002. Covid or not Covid if this happens and I’m excluded that’s it .

I imagine it won’t be that people are excluded, but they will limit season ticket sales to 25% of ground capacity and only allow season ticket holders to attend.

I would imagine There’s more than 25% STs now so if they limit it at that then someone’s gonna be excluded/miss out /restricted or whatever it may be .

Yes. I worded that poorly. I meant more that it will be starting again from scratch, not picking and choosing from current season ticket holders.

My gut feeling is that enough won’t want to go back yet anyway that they won’t have to turn anyone that wants to go away. I don’t know though

Yeah I get that but 25% is give or take around six thousand .
I’d say they’d be more than six k wanting to return .
I used to know an associate at work (won’t call him workmate ) who only ever went to reds games for free in hospitality and let all the reds fans at work know about it and he went to a fair few pet season .
Never bothered me at the time just his smarmy bragging which pissed a few others off as well but I’d bet my bottom dollar he’d be there still whilst proper reds were limited .
As I say it wouldn’t bother me normal circumstances but stuff like that would kill it for me .

We have a fair few older ST holders that I imagine wont be keen to go back.

What do you expect the club to do? They’ve got to look at every possible revenue avenue in this desperate situation, that’s if it’s even been discussed.
I very much doubt they’d sell full STs to a select 5500 (or how many it would be) and say to hell with everyone else. A sensible way would be to invite applications to see how much interest there is and then sell part STs to everyone to share the number of games out.
Let’s give them a chance first before we advocate turning our backs on the club. If they did make it an exclusive 5500 then I agree there’d be cause for complaint. Let’s see what develops first.

Be an interesting ploy. I would rather be there than watching on tv.

We have around 11000 season ticket holders. Which would if the whole stadium was available mean 5.500 capacity.

In our case if it was the only way to get crowds in.
Could mean 1/2 season tickets. Claiming your seat every other game. Making sure such as Marlon got the same games for himself and the other 2. Allowing swaps between folk if necessary.

I think to a degree, I could put up with that till we get back to normal.

2 drawbacks you couldn’t select your own games . And how would you cater for those who follow as pay on the Gate customers.

    Needs must.
just hope Don Rowing doesn’t get involved.
Whatever it is, it has to be seen as fair to all.

If we have to socially distance fans around the stadium, we will need to utilise ALL of it. It should mean the return of the West Stand (North) and splitting the North Stand.

No way I will be attending until it’s safe. They need to get professional coverage of games and sell that for now.

It can't and won't work for a lot of clubs so its a non starter for me.

It would take forever for 6000 to get in the ground at socially distanced intervals, no chance of food or drink programme selling etc. Not going to happen, just another idea to fill paper pages with.

Using every 4th seat would not provide adequate social distancing. On the other hand, those from the same household would not need to distance at all.
