Bit of advice required......I should have been arriving home today after a month in foreign climes, obvs that didn't happen. I have a week off work commencing 4th July. Currently weighing up my options. Fancy a few days in Barcelona, don't fancy an enforced 2 weeks isolation when I get back. But if me and the mrs keep schtum, who'd know? They can't check on everyone can they? In the new post Cummingsgate climate where no one gives a ****.....if the flights are there, and Ryanair amongst others reckon they'll be doing 1000 flights a day by then, what do u reckon, be fine won't it? Ta
Probably won't fly this year if I'm honest. Looking at a UK based holiday in September once the kids are (finally) back at school.
Quarantine pretty much rules out the everyday holiday for most people, especially if they do it at both sides. Said on another thread. It's the re-circulated air that would scare me. Norfolk broads looking a better option, mostly isolated cruising up and down a river with the odd beer stop if it's safe..
I'm skipping holidays this year , including the UK . Wherever you go it's going to be packed out with foreign holidays looking like a big no no . I'll wait till next year .
France just announced reprichocal quarantine measures. You are right those measures being implemented across Europe and beyond are going to kill air travel and in turn the airline industry.
Never done it before, just seems to be a decent option if the weather is decent! Are there no locks on the broads then?
No locks, done the broads 3 times, love it, u need to be aware how long it takes to get anywhere tho at about 3 mph! Would be strange doing it without the regular pub stops tho, if they're not open.
Ah right, always had it in mind there would be loads of locks which for a first time I would prefer there not to be! Get what your saying about 3mph though..although I don't mind just chilling in at a sedentary pace..... On the other hand, It'll be the first time the boat we won on Bullseye 30 yrs ago will have been out on the water... full throttle all the way
I'm stuck in San Francisco on Day 68 of lock-down. I was OK with it at first, but they keep moving the goalposts of what is needed to re-open, and when. After LA we will probably be the last county to re-open, and most of it here is political. I now see that NSW have allowed bars and restaurants to open for 10 people, and that will rise to 50 people on June 1st. I'd be happy to jump on a 15-hour flight and put up with 14 days quarantine right now to be there. As a 60-year old male, with a BMI and BP that could be better, I just want to get back to living; not existing.
I hope everyone is back on a plane as soon as possible to help out our aviation industry (and to keep UK seaside resorts from being rammed and prices put up due to increased demand off the back of a reduced service).
