It was a cynical first foul and then he also had a little dig as he walked past Killian

The way he played and he says its not a red.
Obviously couldn't see it properly :)

I would expect to get sent off in the 80's on a Sunday morning for that.

    Never mind nowadays!

It was deffo a yellow unless he did something else at the same time.

He took the news pretty well though, as did his team mates, which makes you think.

Really? If there’s no stamp in there (which would be just off camera) I’d be absolutely fuming if one of ours got sent off for that. Yellow all day long.

One of those. Not exactly dangerous. But definitely intent. Thought at first it was for the initial tackle. But the second one. No intention of playing the ball only the man. Overall don’t give a toss. We’ve had players sent of for less. And the booking for Simoes was a joke.

I've only seen it from the one angle on the YouTube highlights, but that's a yellow at best. I'm all for protecting players and stamping out some of the more agricultural challenges of the 70's, but if you're sending players off for a trip in an innocuous area of the field where the offending player stays on his feet, then football's on its way to becoming a non-contact sport.

Edit - seems like Mowbray has come out and said it was a kick and a clear red. I guess the angle really is everything! The ref was very well placed to see it clearly.

I thought it was a yellow live until I saw the replay. The red mist descended and it's a petulant kick at the player rather than the ball
