    What on earth has happened?

He wasn’t looking great prior to lockdown, let’s be honest.

But he’s been a pale imitation of himself in the three games since returning. Surprisingly ineffective.

What do we think? Just needing to get up to speed, or something more sinister like he knows he’s going (and where)?

Needs a goal .....if he's off he's off but he's still got a duty to Barnsley

Thought he looked a bit livelier yesterday - would have liked to see him stay on to try and get a goal.

I think he’s looked a better player as a number 10 than as a striker. I thought he was excellent in that position.

He’s not really played as a striker since about October before these last 3 games

Fully in the game yesterday, just needs a goal to be off and running again imo. I liked the way he and Alex took the knee at the start if the game too.

He looked lively last night. His first couple of efforts at goal were rasping and on target. Although he could have picked his spot better with the first one. It looked a good save in real time but the replay showed he could have shot across the keeper and scored. I'm being finicky there though.

I admit he did look a bit livelier last night - but as a comparison to his performances over the two seasons, still not to what I’d consider his standard. Maybe I’m being harsh.

I suppose we can be encouraged though, he maybe needed game time to get up to speed - we will see I guess.

Woodrow is a hard worker, his main problem for me is that he is a ‘great goal’ scorer, but he is not an ‘easy’ or ‘bad’ goal scorer, he is a striker not a finisher.

Alternative is Schmidt who might flourish as an out and out striker.

    Respectfully disagree.

Over 90 percent of his goals during the promotion season were finishes from inside the box. We played 4-4-2 with wingers and a big man next to him. He was lethal. Now he's been asked to play deeper and do a lot of the donkey work - but it's a compliment to his ability that he's still managed to score the goals that he has. Do a YouTube search for "Woodrow 18/19 goals". One touch and finish in the box or first time from crosses or pull backs.

He still should have scored that cut back yesterday mind.

I just know that if a chance comes save our season with the last kick of the last game I would rather it fall to him than anyone else in the squad.

I think he looked good last night - got stuck in, battled a lot, few nice touches and passed. Needs a goal

I’m thinking and certainly hoping that Caul will get into his stride as the balance of this season progresses and that he’ll be back to his best for the likes of Forest etc.

Did anyone notice, sometime after he came off, the affectionate gesture from Struber towards him. He had chosen to sit in the dugout rather than in the seats with the other players and staff and the manager gave him a good cuddle and handshake. "Well played Cauley" kind of thing

Struber has the potential to be one of the best coaches the clubs ever had. I've never in all my time as a Barnsley supporter been so relaxed win, lose or draw as I am now. He is the same all the time. He must be a joy to work with. I like that he moves onto the next game straight away regardless of the result or performance.

    I agree -
But any incidents on the 6.28 this morning - some things are even more important than football!

Just needs a goal, when he gets one he’ll be reyt. His overall game is improving game on game but he just seems to be lacking confidence in front of goal.

I’m sorry but after today’s showing I’m back to my op opinion.

I think he’s playing within himself, knowing full well he’s off.
