They’re not a scapegoat they went into admin and invoked the rules . It’s no good having rules then say but but . the rules are the rules . It’s not our fault that this had happened and Conway was right to point this out imo because the media especially sky were trying their best to sway the EFL. The letter he threatened them with or was going to only asked for their own rules to be implemented he wasn’t asking for the Spanish Inquisition to be implemented. We have done nothing that. Brum, Charlton ,Luton or even they themselves would have done given the reverse situation . This going on other fans forums they get what they deserve imo what the hell did they expect and it would have been same on other forums that for different circumstances would finish third bottom . If they’re coming on looking for sympathy then yeah I feel sorry thsy they ended up with a shithouse of an owner if they want sympathy that we staying up because of it we’ll they can **** right off because I know what they would have thought on us In reverse
He won't go for his true value. That's the nature of a transfer when the selling party are in the **** financially as the buying club knows that the club desperately needs the money. The administrators have a duty to get the maximum they can for any saleable assets though, as that's their jobs. If they knowingly sold him off for a pittance to shaft us out of a cut of the proceeds, then they would be costing their own club as much money as ours(and it would look very bad on the administrators which could cost them future business).
Conways letter was nothing to do with Wigan IIRC but the fact that Wednesday and Derby were cheating and the league couldnt ignore it as we would sue. Wigan werent in Admin at the time and even now the League are saying they should be penalised according to the rules. Wigan cant blame Conway for this
Exactly my point. Our interests should not be undermined just because of the situation they find themselves in.
They cant shaft us out of the proceeds - even if they give him away FOC to get him off the wage bill they still owe us the £3million or whatever the figure is - if they dont pay it they cant play in the football league its that simple. If Wigan get liquidated we will be shafted though
I was thinking more any sell-on fees. If we have (for example) 25% sell on fee, then that's a reported £500k on the ~£2m that QPR want to pay. If they **** him off for free and agree on a wage settlement with him, then that's £500k that won't go to us. It's all theoretical anyway, as we have no clue if any additional payments exist..
Doubt we would get any sell on even if there is one included. It will be a percentage of the increase not the fee so if Wigan buy for £3Million and sell for 4 Million we get a percentage of the £1Million profit. If they sell him for £3million or less we get nothing extra
In the context of the letter it didn’t say Wigan in particularly but it emphasised the rules for whatever reason. The Wigan affair would be covered within same letter Imo wanting the rules to be applied fairly , evenly and honestly .
Completely agree. I was just making the point to the poster who mentioned trying to put an embargo on Moore to try and stop them giving him away. ignore: Just seen it will probably be for Angus McDonald...
That’s the point I’m trying, not very well, to make. After a full season in the Championship he has got to be worth more than what they agreed with us. I think we should play hard ball and put an embargo on any sale until it is shown to be a realistic fee. It may not work but it would give them something else to think about
The EFL are making this a farce, they didn’t hang about with poor old Bury! Now that buyer has dropped out it could end up the same situation.. Then you have the Washday affair that’s been going for ages that could also impact on the relegation places. Around all this boll.ocks teams are supposed to prepare for the new season, which let’s face it isn’t far off!
Preparations will already have been underway from our side I'm sure. The fact that other clubs are ******* about shouldn't be our problem. And somehow it is. We run the risk of missing out on players on the off chance that those bunch of ***** at the efl haven't got any balls to make good on their own rules
Without sounding I'm alright jack. I dont give a stuff what Charlton think. Although it would be funny if Tesco's were relegated and charlton stayed up too
