Getting Fans Back In Stadiums

Why isn't it fair and what is fair then in this situation?

 

Fair would be you each get so many matches live if you want them. I dont think it will be an issue though because I am certain some ST holders wont attend matches while restrictions are in place due to health concerns.

This is where problems will occur with the "who gets the tickets for which game".OK for some teams who only have crowds of 25% of the ground capacity ,but for the most of prem and championship clubs this is goin to cause problems,like for example leeds fans would rather watch man u game than the Burnley game.

 

I think you're looking at it very simplisticly. How many fans held off until furlough ended to see if they still had a job, for example? How is that fair?

If the first X games are reduced capacity, it would be best to rotate them across all season ticket holders, not who paid first. Not everyone is made of money in the town and this has been uncertain times- let's not prioritise the ones who could afford it?

I certainly am not looking at it simplisticly at all, and i am fully aware of the money restrictions people are put under. If you took the time to read my post carefully enough you would see that i was against the people who had just renewed post 23/7( when we think we have survived relegation) getting a seat above those who had paid up in june. in june there was no certainty about getting a seat at all next season. Now there is likelihood for possible return in October. That was my main point, thanks

 

How do you know who chose to renew at end of July because of the league we are in versus people who held off due to uncertainty around jobs though? That's what i meant- it isn't black and white. A lot has changed since the beginning of July jobs wise.

The idea of arriving at the ground 2 hours before kick off doesn't sound appealing.

 

And presumably stumping up for the cost of the test.

 

The idea of allowing people to drink alcohol is a interesting one as long as its monitored correctly.

Just imagine a last minute winner, beer flying all over the place, then the realisation that the liquid that just went all over you was just a little bit too warm...

If Bristol rugby can get the government to allow 10,000 in Ashton Gate then I see no reason why we couldn't accomodate in our similar capacity ground all our season pass holders for every game without anyone having to miss out.

 

Heard a rumour Millwall have been told that they can have 30% capacity, they have sold under 3000 season tickets.

 

Guaranteeing all season ticket holders will see every game. Bubbles of two is a poor idea. It should be bubbles of any size as long as you're all in the same eticketing account.

 

The simple answer is that there isn't a simple answer.

The simplest answer that I can see is that the club could ask people if they want to come to back to Oakwell as soon as possible or they are happy to stay as a digital season ticket holder for the next "X" months.

I miss the live games - but being entirely honest with myself I didn't find the streaming service too bad at all. I drive to every game and only meet up with one mate to watch the game after the old fella I went with for 20 odd years died a few years back.

I didn't have to set off two hours before kick off to get parked up, sat at home with a projector and a few beers and enjoyed the games. Mate came to watch a couple with me socially distanced - so far as compromises go it wasn't a bad one at all!

I wouldn't want to do it forever but if they were to say we can only let 50% of fans back into the ground this year- does anyone volunteer? I think I would.

Probably wouldn't want to do it any longer than the next season but I'd was pleasantly surprised by the compromise and being able to watch the away games was a great bonus for me - not done that since my 20's!

 

Some of what Millwall says makes sense and some of it is rubbish. Bubbles of two? So if you go to games with your two kids then you have to leave one at home or if you go as a group of four you have to waste a seat by having a gap in between you. It won't be hard to move people from every other row to another part of the ground to keep gaps. We would need to contact all those who have bought a season pass to see how many don't wish to return straight away either they don't feel safe doing so or the idea of being at the ground two hours before kick off when they set off early enough from not living in the area isn't appealing and then someone else can be lucky enough to come. Hopefully the spray tunnel idea gets the go ahead so we wouldn't need to hang around in a cold stadium from 1 pm. Even in August being there five minutes before kick off is enough, nevermind in winter.
