Poll above. I'm not a season ticket holder but curious as to how worried the club should be about having to mass refund one of their biggest income streams if things don't go well with the virus.
Bought the ticket with the thought we would be unlikely to be allowed back in this year. To be fair with today's announcement it may be several more months before we are allowed back. At least should be able to stream the home league games for free.
I thought they had sold the discounted tickets with an explicit "buyer beware" notice that effectively meant you were only buying whatever access was allowed by the Government, which was recognised in the heavy discount, so I'm not sure we'd have a claim anyway.
So far as I'm concerned if this seasons season ticket is a digital one then so be it. It's not ideal but on the grand scheme of things the club has done the best it can and I bought it with my eyes open to the risk.
Don’t think there would be refunds. I bought mine knowing it’s unlikely I’ll go to a game this season. I can’t see sporting events happening until the rapid (20 minute) tests come in. At which point there should be no restrictions.
Think those rapid daily tests people can take from home are a sham. It would involve every household to take part and everyone be trusted to isolate if their daily test is positive. We know plenty of selfish people will not cancel their plans if that is the case. For example we have a big home local derby I doubt every fan on the morning of the match that tests positive would decide not to go to the game.
I was under the impression it would be done properly on admission, but maybe I’m wrong on that. If it’s done by individuals I’d not trust it at all.
I took the refund last season but I bought this one with my eyes open to the possibilities. I wouldn't expect or want a refund.
Free streaming outweighs the cost of the season ticket price, plus I’m saving on travelling time/expenses. Might get used to it!
To be fair, I knew exactly what they were selling, and that if I couldn't get to the ground, I'd get it on telly, so it's would be a little unfair to want a refund.
During the 'Lockdown Season' we were the only club in the Championship to give season ticket holders access to all home and away games (I think). And still a percentage of fans took a refund as well as access to all those games. I'd be surprised if you weren't looking at 30-40% wanting a refund if the whole season was cancelled - but as someone else says above the risk was pretty clear when we bought one so I'm not sure one would be offered.
At the end of the day, we pay to support the club. We get to watch games live or digitally, but we still get to watch it. The club need the money - hence the discount. No one should consider asking for a refund for the 20/21 season - it was clear to all what the offer was. I back the club fully on this.
Tis what it is. Not even thinking about it. As long as it takes. I’ll pay to help keep the club afloat. Some things are far more important than money. Would understand those that have to pull in the pursestrings considering it. But I’d be surprised if many fall into that category having committed to buying one in the first place. With no guarantees. I genuinely thought and think we may not see a game live all season. I’d Be surprised if the opening of grounds goes ahead next month given the rise in positive cases of Covid.
God forbid that we miss out on the whole season - surely even our Government couldn't be SO stupid - but IF we do, and are given a free match pass for every home game then surely no one could complain about that. As I said above, it is cheaper to buy the season ticket (£159 for me) than pay £230 for 23 match passes.
