What makes it even worse is the scalping. Got to think it's a deliberate tactic by both MS and Sony, to drive up the demand. I'll get one in a few years when the Series Z comes out
I have ended up paying over the odds for one. I was up from 3am refreshing for stock and managed to get two (at separate times) into my basket only to lose them before check out. Bloke I eventually over payed managed to get himself four! Fuming, but lad is desperate for one for Christmas so I just bit the bullet.
yep I might end up doing that but holding out - sure with the level of demand they will get decent amounts produced! I think it’s pretty out of order buying stock up to sell when it’s clear kids will want them for Xmas but such is the world we live in
Supply for computer hardware has been an absolute nightmare during Covid. Right back to last January many factories closed for a lot longer than anticipated (they usually close for a couple of weeks for Chinese New Year, but many didn’t open for months following that). Ever since supply of components has been difficult to impossible. I do wonder if Sony and Microsoft have fallen victim to that also. It’s the supply all the way down the chain to base components like capacitors etc.
I'm going to wait till after Christmas and when they start appearing in the shops and you are not having to fight over one. Bagged myself a PS5 so got that to use for the time being. To be honest games are poor for both consoles and by the time they both hit the shelves proper there should be more games to choose from
I've been told to find a new home if l come home with one.......... Let me know if you find some stock
I'm more into PlayStation but it's the same story. People buy up as much as they can get their hands on to try and turn a profit. Personally, I'm not that fussed about getting one on day one but I can empathise with any parent who is trying to get one for their kid for Christmas but can't because the same people who were probably hoarding bog roll in March are now sat on a pile of consoles.
Yeh I understand. To be honest I don't know why they don't launch them in the summer, by Christmas then they should be around to buy for presents
