Can only judge folk as I see them. Spent hours and hours with Moncs. Not a bad bone in his body and underrated in his time here, in my opinion. Still talk to him regularly. Lovely kid.

Never worked with Keith. But spent a fair bit of time in his company and he’s a sound bloke. No filter, no act. Genuine.
    Looking forward to Tranmere’s visit.

Hope you do well Pelly. Your escape was better than ours. Not the Drama mind. :) I’ll settle for you 1 place below us. But Moncur. He has so much talent and skill. But for us only when he could be bothered to play. If he performed at his best more often he’d be in the Premier. But is a luxury in short spells. Is he always on the team sheet as first choice. If not it says it all.

He was a world beater for Colchester against us and for us against Sundetland, Peterborough and Luton. Unfortunately, I can't think of any other games where he showed his undoubted class.

I have just been reading how he only had one start last season in the league and had chances to leave for league one sides in the summer. Now he's starting regularly and putting shifts in which is hard to believe :D

I was on Twitter when George first joined us. I sent him a tweet welcoming him to Oakwell and
hoping he had a long and productive career with us. I was pleasantly surprised to recieve
a tweet back from him, thanking me for my kind wishes and assuring me he intended to do his
very best for the Club. Unfortunately, it never worked out well for him which was a pity.

I believe he played for Luton this afternoon in the 2-0 away loss against Swansea. Not
sure, but I think he had a shot that rebounded off a post, although on Sky, the match reporter
said it was John Moncur who had the attempt. John is the former long serving West Ham
midfielder and is of course George's father.

When I looked at Georges postings to various people on Twitter, it appeared that he
was deeply religious. I don't know why, but I did not expect that. When he went out
on loan, some very derogatory things were posted about him and I recall, that his
partner got heavily involved in defending him. They appeared to be a really nice
couple and to me, it's a pity how things ended for him at Oakwell. Can't be nice
for a player when you know your own fans are not 100% in support of you.

The game before he signed for us. Never seen a player given so many chances by a manager and eventually binned off. Not sure why that is.

Always had talent but was never fit enough or intelligent enough to deserve a regular start in my opinion.

I’m not surprised if he had improved. That’s what happens we take young lads & try to develop them. Sometime they develop with us & are stars for us, sometimes it doesn’t happen with us & they end peaking at a different club later in their career.

    Toney, Armstrong, Moncur, Berry etc.

I always thought Pearson had potential for us but at the time he was behind Pinnock, Lindsay, Jackson & MacDonald so was never likely to break through. No surprise to see him doing well now

The difference between Pearson and Moncur is that Pearson always gave 100% and seemed a really honest lad for Barnsley, seemed an alright defender, and I would say had better good games than bad in a bad season for us.

Moncur was given chances by several managers and always flattered to deceive.

I would hope its something that now gets discussed when they're in the academy. Hero to zero very quickly .

Quite a few footballers seem to be religious Jason Mccarthy is as well.

Dani Pinnilios is great at replying to my son's attempts at Spanish on SM.

True but both had areas they needed to improve in & seem to be doing it.

He used to irritate me but I guess it’s just the way it is, some players take longer for the penny to drop.

There was the incident not long after he signed where he was ill advised by his agent/dad (can't remember which), to publicly demand to go out on loan if he wasn't going to play. He later apologised for that, and upon his return, came into the side and looked quite handy.

The following season, we had a glut of players who played in the same position as him, and he appeared to be first choice. His performances were well short of where they needed to be.

Upon relegation to league 1, his changes became limited because we preferred a partnership of Mowatt & Potts/McGeehan/Bahre (although Potts was famously farmed out onto the wing on occasion). When he did get his chance, again he didn't look up to it.

I've nothing against the lad personally. The abuse he and his wife took on social media is disgusting, and an example of why I keep away from twitter in particular. I think the move to Luton was good for all parties involved, and I'm happy he's fulfilling his potential there. The fact is, he never really got going here, despite 67 appearances, under 3 different managers.

I believe his Dad John was his chief mentor and advisor and when George was getting stick on social media, both his
wife and his Dad leapt to his defence. Agree about Twitter Archey. I didn't post on there regularly but when I did, it was
restricted to the commenting on the Reds or Poole Pirates Speedway.

There was a spate of tweets that were sent to me from young women that were crude and some bordered on being pornographic. As a result I decided not to continue posting on the site and cancelled my membership.
