I agree that restaurants shouldn't be closed. You're correct on that. I did say it.

But I didn't play the figures down. Search for excuses. Look for ways out. No way should schools be opened. Pure madness. But restaurants, in a Covid safe environment? Yes.

It isn't that simple fonzie. People dying of covid and people dying within 28 days of a test are not the same thing and you know it and yes blunt force trauma, buses, heart attacks, cancer death and everything else ARE included in the 'within 28 days' ********.

I'm not playing anything down in asking for accurate figures, accurate information and accurate risk assessments because this deliberate misleading figures and deliberately shocking graphs produced by whitty and valance in the past do not do anyone any good. They scare the **** out of people and make others stop believing a word they say. Give me accurate figures. Tell me how many died today DUE to covid according to the doctor who signed them off as dead. Why is that so hard? As I understand it that figure is actually higher anyway so why not use it? Give us accurate information or don't give us any but to deliberately give out figures which they know are not accurate is unacceptable.

It's so bad we have football teams going all over the country playing games and the entourage that entails.

    People always die.

Hospitals are always overwhelmed in winter

    You already said that.

    You already said that.

    Bye.

They’re a case because they have the virus and they can transmit it to others. It’s really simple.

Supermarkets should be emptied of none essential items, including all none essential foods.
You shouldn't be allowed to order any none essential items to be delivered to your home.
    Covid secure restaurants?
What about the people supplying them? What about the person driving to a restaurant who breaks down and calls the AA putting someone else in danger?
If we are closing schools I can give you a list of a thousand other things that should be shut by applying the same criteria.
I mix with more households than any teachers in my work. All in the purist of none essential foods being on supermarket shelves. Supply chains are full of people mixing.

Fair enough, but the great British public are the biggest menace for me,like what about all the p1llarks that are crowding into places like Meadowhall and the Trafford Centre, and the ones from tier 3 areas who took it on themselves to have a holiday over Christmas in lower tier areas, or the tits from Leeds who can't manage without a pub so they plough into places like York that is now struggling after getting things under control. Not to mention folk like the 2 behind me in a chippy yesterday who to say their mask wearing was a token effort was an understatement.
The government have to take their share of the blame but...........

I agree with that, it's definitely a case. If you have it you have it.
But if 100,000 people have it and they self isolate as per the law who are they passing it to?

I know its semantics but to me they are a positive test result until they become ill then they are a case.
So I agree they should isolate ect I just mean in terms of reporting how bad things are we are lumping healthy people into the numbers.
If you are using it to Express the risk of the spread, as I know you were in the OP then I have no issue with it. Makes sense.

Only reason schools are open is if they close schools and nurserys people are unable to work due to lack of childcare so jump back on furlough. I'm not saying schools should be open but that's the reason why they are so reluctant to close them.

    Fair point.

However, we owe it to ourselves to look at the information impartially - and check multiple sources where possible.

I tend to get frustrated when I see folks searching out articles that simply support their viewpoint, which is doing themselves a disservice.

We actually saw the government doing this in regards wearing masks. When there was a shortage of PPE they pointed to the scientific data that said they were not effective.

As do I to be honest. People who only look at information to suit their agenda annoy me. I think that's actually why I get so frustrated with the media and the government because the media (including the BBC) have an agenda of fear because fear generates viewers and readers. The information they give out is deliberately aimed at that the government, well their information is aimed at control (for both invalid and very valid reasons) and it's just sad that it's the only information that is allowed to be considered valid.

Personally I try to avoid as much information as I can because I don't need a daily running total of how many people have died, if we did that for other dangerous diseases and viruses we would all be on anti-depressants. If there's something I particularly want to know I try to look at a few different sources, maybe an article from someone saying something and then one of the official pages to check the stats but honestly even doing that is so hard because the figures are so muddled.
