Me too. Not given a chance under VI, as he has been injured, which seems strange.

Whilst I agree, to some extent, it is always a fine balancing act for the recruitment team. It is a mixture of science and art.
If we buy a lot of players, as we are these days, then some will not be getting game time and we will have "deadwood", according to some.
If we but a few players, there is always the call that the squad is "a bit thin", if we get injuries, suspensions, etc.
It's similar to the contract length problem: We used to give short contracts and lose our best players too early. We now give longer contracts and may have too many players who are not getting game time, or who we cannot offload, especially with CV19.
As I said at the start, trying to balance these four criteria is a difficult task.
I would always like to err on the side of having too many players, on too long of a contract, than the opposite.

Struber binned him off after he reacted badly to being substituted away at Derby. Whilst I don't know what has happened behind the scenes, he's barely been seen since, which makes me think his professionalism might have come into question somewhat.

I'm pretty sure Stendel wanted to build his team around him. He had a great first touch, but didn't really adapt to English football & certainly does not fit VI's team in any shape or form. I wish him all the best. He will do well on the continent somewhere, or at Luton.

I wonder if it was more him being able to understand and translate what Daniel wanted that partly led to him being captain.

Good to see a number of posts appreciating Bahre. Was one of my favourite players in the promotion season and often felt he got a lot of underserved stick on here. Admittedly he was inconsistent, but he still showed he could perform in the championship. On that basis I can kind of understand why we're letting him go but would've at least liked to seen him given a chance in a front three under Val. Was able to play the press under stendel so don't see that being an issue and a much better footballer than Thomas or Simoes. Good luck to him.

More than decent at L1 level, and i had real high hopes for him after a great championship debut v Fulham. But in the end too inconsistent.

    Best of luck Mike.

Thankfully we'll never have to hear the worst song in football ever again. "Mike-Steven Bähre, he's got 3 first names".

Nobody has ever christened their child Bähre

I wish him all the luck in the world - no axe to grind with him at all, but he really wasn't consistent enough.

Chaplin Woodrow Victor Styles Andersen Helik (of the top of my head) are all inconsistent.

Others - Frieser, Brittain Solly Mowatt Walton - you tend to know what you're liable to get, which often isn't as good as the inconsistent ones on a good day.

Bahre had his good days - but it all seemed to have to be right for him. He never seemed to make it his day. He looked better when those around him were making it work for him.

Someone said he had a long term injury on here not so long ago so I think he has been injured. I thought he was treated unfairly by struber to be honest I remember him starting and struber subbing him after 20 minutes or so, fair enough he wasn't in the game but struber used to play ritzmaier week in week out who was never in the game. Best of luck Mike.

Bahre was absolutely dreadful in that Derby game though. Constantly giving the ball away, and holding onto the ball much longer than he needed to. His replacement went on to equalise.

Personally, I think Struber was justified in that particular substitution. I feel something else must have gone ob after though, as he was only seen once after I think.

Not that I recall, I think he only came on as a late sub once after that.

Simoes was subbed early in one of big Val's first games, and he reacted angrily too. He hasn't been seen since either.
