Statistically the best shot stopper in the league. Has saved us 6.5 goals this season, according to the expected goals metric.
Good for Brad, but that level of performance is probably unsustainable over the long term and it's worrying to see us conceding the most xg in terms of shots on target in the league
Good point and hopefully we will avoid shots on goal more as we go through the season. But someone has to finish top of the goalkeeping charts so relatively speaking he just needs to continue as good as he can be.
Brad Collins has been immense this season. I must admit I had my doubts after looking at the stats from last season but he's kicked on and is clearly our number one now.
I struggle to celebrate having top performing players when the next transfer window is never much more than four months away… If he carries on as he is and makes a big name for himself, someone will come in for him, and he’ll go. It’s almost worth him having the occasional brain fart like the one at Bournemouth (which was a game we’d have lost regardless) to keep some doubt about him…
Because his dot being highest on the Y Axis is the elephant in the room and there's no reason to purposely ignore it? It's not as if I'm coming up with a subjective personal argument to drag the club down, is it? It's right there in the data.
My reading would be that BC has had the most opportunity to prove himself a good goalkeeper - and he has taken that opportunity. (although they really should have xG on the X-axis - would make it much easier to read - yawn)
