Surely the last bit deserves investigation.....they are clearly flaunting the rules and showing flagrant disregard for the rules we all have to adhere to.

So this saves them from a point deduction this time... What will they have to sell next time?

I don't know what's more wrong... That the football league are happy with these loopholes or that clubs can lose £39m over 3 years.

It's crazy that they sold the ground for over £30m and yet still only made £2.5m profit that year.

Depends if it was for what was deemed to be the market value. 60 million for that shithole makes me think it probably wasn't.

I know at times the regime followed by Patrick Cryne of living within our means, was unpopular
with a lot of our supporters, but you have to say, after reading the piece on Sheffield Wednesday,
the way he ran the Club and how the present Board are now operating, has to be applauded.

Chansiri has poured millions in to attempt to get to the Premiership and its backfired. So far, they've
had to release six players who were on high wages and apparently further savings will still have to be made.

There's also a soft embargo on signing any new high earners in place, which means that as well as
not being able to keep hold of Bruce, they really could struggle in the Championship this coming season.

I find it staggering that they genuinely see themselves too big to follow the rules.

How are the football league allowing this to happen, although I do want this club in question to go out of business how many other clubs is it going to take shutting the doors for good to make the football league open their eyes and put a stop to these things?

its not just the Pigs though is it. Not saying Bournemouth ( and I quite like Bournemouth fc) are flaunting the ffp rules but with a ground that small (11,329) how the hell can they survive in the top flight, and its not only them is it. Bournemouth have the smallest capacity ground in the top two tiers of the English leagues, by about 10k min. How do they do it.

Interesting comment about the land registry.

There is a suggestion that it was never actually sold and that this is just an accounting mirage

I’d thats the case.....I would imagine they’re in a difficult position

Gate money is peanuts. Probably less than 10% of income. I remember when Wimbledon reached the top tier. Sam Hamman said gate money was not taken into account when financing the club.

Pretty sure they are owned by a swiss billionaire who bankrolled them to success.

They could probably let the fans in for free every week and still not go bust. The TV money is all that matters these days. Madness.

What a stitch up. Headlines 2020 Chansiri. Either Sells Hillsborough for £1. Cuts his losses and runs away. Or sells Hillsborough to property developer to try and recoup some of his losses. Sheffield Wednesday to rent hallam fc ground as no professional cub within a 50 mile radius will take up ground sharing.

It smacks of councils selling of parks and school fields... short term payday... long term shatstorm.. he put 60 mil in but turned only 2.5 mill profit? That money has already gone. What’s he going to buy next year?

Isn’t there a tax issue with selling something for above the market value?

They obviously fixed the price at a level that made just enough profit on the ground to tip them into overall profitability for the year.

A mate of mine is a Villa fan and used to work at the airport in Birmingham where he often met up with 'Deadly' Doug Ellis who confessed that in the early days of the Premier Division they could play behind closed doors and still turn a profit.
