He's introduced a new close control excercise at Elland Road. The players are given a ball and have to dribble round a set of strategically placed oil drums. A lad I know went to watch them training at Thorpe Arch the other day and says the players are improving. The oil drums only won 2-0 on Monday.!
Not particularly arsed to be honest. He’s gone, don’t really care if he succeeds or fails. This Judas thing is a bit much, just as it was with Wilson 20 years ago - he would likely have been sacked eventually if things didn’t improve. Plenty were calling for his head. He knew fans had turned on him, not all but some, so chose to leave when the opportunity arose and trebled his wage or whatever and secured his family’s future. His call, I didn’t like the decision but in the same shoes I might have done similar, I’ll never know. As a barnsley fan it is disappointing he did that, though we don’t look to be worse off for it. I wasn’t one who thought he should be sacked but him walking might turn out to be the best thing for us. Either way I’m not too interested in him now. He’s gone, move on. He’ll get pelters if and when he comes back to the well managing someone - I doubt he’ll make leeds’ next match here but he’ll get another job somewhere.
Likewise. I feel deep joy every time he gets rolled over - so there has been much joy in my life of late.
I still have no animosity towards the bloke whatsoever. But there's a certain irony in recalling that it's barely six weeks since Hecky earned a credible draw against a very good Wolves side with his old team! In other news, Radrizzani is complaining post-game about the money Wolves have splashed (£23M deficit on last year just announced). This from the man who poached our Head Coach by trebling his wages!
Season Ticket holders or Sky Sports subscribers? My works full of armchair Sky Leeds fans. Oddly enough, they’ve started talking about Leeds Rhinos more recently
Few of those in my office too, but this one has clearly had a knock on the head so goes to the games. Really enjoying the downfall after how smug they all were 1 month ago.
Had a chat with a Leeds fan this morning, it's fair to say he was beyond unimpressed. Dour, characterless, uninspiring, tactically naïve, unable to motivate. Funny that when you remove yourself more from what he achieved in the first phase of his tenure with us, you see all those things much more clearly. I thought he was getting more and more negative with us as time went on, and I thought a change may refresh him. Clearly that's just his personality, dour, charmless and mundane.
Sorry if this interview has already been posted. http://www.motforum.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=35577 Doesn't seem two minutes since some of our fans were scared to death of him leaving us because they'd read into his interviews that he sounded fed up. He's just a dour, moaning individual when it's not going his way. Unbelievably, in that interview he's alluding to half of the clubs in this league having more money than the mighty Leeds. Clearly, nothings ever his fault.
To be fair on that site, there seem to be the same 4 or 5 candidates who are filling several pages about him. But with crowd reaction last night it does seem he could be on very shaky ground already and has turned a decent team into a much poorer one. I'm interested to see how long they'll give him, I got the impression they wanted a push for the playoffs, not a meandering end of season for him to assess what was needed in the summer. If they were willing to give him time, they would have given him something longer than an 18 month contract. Dead fish eyes
according to the leeds faithfull who I work with they really don't want hecky in leeds they didn't want him then and don't want him even more now
Massive gamble that united two sets of rival fans in total amazement. I know Hecky still had his fans whilst he was here, albeit a lessening number by the game, but how many can hand on heart say they expected a club to come in and whisk him away to spearhead their promotion push based on his win ratio over the last year or so? At this point in time it just seems totally crackers, but only slightly more crackers than us giving him an improved contract before he left. . . . .. unless that was all part of the deal to get shut?
DrZazlos_LUFC, thereevMOT and Hemsworth White are having the time of their lives on there. As for Young Bremner and Dragon Peacock... words fail me.
