Now the dust is starting to settle we should try to take a measured view of 'Hecky's' departure. If you sign a contract then both parties should stick to its terms for its duration. This is integrity. The only get out is if either party breaches the terms of the contract. If in 'Hecky's' case he signed the new contract on the basis that the Club was aware of his pending exit (and they included a 'buy out' clause) as a means of the Club receiving compensation, then he can be forgiven. If not he can't.

One of the terms was that if someone paid £500k (or whatever the official amount was), they could end the contract. So as far as I know, all parties held to the terms of the contract.
