Quite surprised that there isn't more of these shops around. Quite an obvious and simple idea.

Thanks for sharing this, I love that guy! Not only is he enabling people to get food for cheap but he is giving them their self worth back. So many peole would rather pay a little bit for pride's sake, rather than have something given for free. I really, really hope someone doesn't get unwell just as a coincidence, or from keeping something a bit too long/not cooking it properly and blame him.

As long as it's just based on best before date he should be OK. Same as any other shop.

Fantastic idea simple and empowering. I hope it's picked up elsewhere.

Just wanted to update you that by sharing this you have directly helped homeless people in Leeds. On a different non-football site I visit someone was asking for donations as they feed the homeless in Leeds each week but they fund all the food themselves and need help covering the costs. I pointed her in the direction of this video and as a result she contacted Tesco to see if they could spare any food. They have just got back to her and have agreed to supply her with a regular donation of bread each week!

That's fantastic. Good to have some goodness in the world sometimes.

Have you been to Booths? I'd not shop anywhere else these days

I'm not sure, a woman just posted on there and said that her and 4 others feed the homeless each Saturday in Leeds but as they split the costs between them they were looking for more people who could help.
