One place above relegation, yet only five points off the playoffs! A bit farcical in my opinion. Surely Scotland should switch to two leagues of 20 / 22? Playing everyone 3/4 times a year must get very dull. Though they'll never go for it of course, as no SPL clubs would ever want to lose their Old Firm revenue.
They've already tried to make it more interesting by adopting a relegation/promotion play off. And of course the "split"
It happened in the 1963-64 season so you must have been young........ http://www.dnapeople.co.uk/tag/east-fife-4-forfar-5/
Whilst I see the logic, it means that with ten teams in the league, upper mid-table means a playoff spot. I suppose it's nothing if it's not exciting. A team could conceivably be playing on the last day not knowing whether they'll be in a promotion or relegation playoff in a particularly tight season.
Nothing wrong what so ever with the Scottish game. Today we have the greatest game in the world. Glasgow's least successful club v Paedo FC. Nothing else matters. All is well. And here lies the problem we have.
Apparently Celtic vs. Rangers is the biggest game in the world, yet if you click on http://www.bbc.co.uk/football you'll see it's not even mentioned on the main page.
This game has had more excitement in the first 20 minutes than the whole of the Manchester derby, but as you say, the excitement doesn't doesn't extend to any of the other games in the same way. Also, by playing each other so many times with their big full stadiums, the money is just going to the money whilst the rest lag further behind. Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
I'm sure it happend when I was young. Probably about 15. But im certain its happened since then Edit Stand corrected. It's only happened then. I must be dreaming of it happening like others lol
Ive been to Stranraer, not for the footy though lol. We were touring Scotchland at the time and stayed at a campsite there for the weekend. Thats when we decided to take the ferry over to Llarne in Northern Ireland for the day. Great memories of the mid 80s.
I've been to Stranraer when on holiday as well. Didn't go over to Llarne though and I never saw a footy game there.
We also needed subtitles Farnham at the Stranraer camp site pub/club!! They couldnt understand us and we couldnt understand them either, it was always a giggle trying to chat with the locals that weekend.
