Bit of a waste of money in Barnsley frankly.

That said, I wouldn't vote for anti-British Marxists Corbyn, Abbott and McDonnell either or the equally anti-UK Farron and UKIP without Farage is not the same, hard choice.

Got rid of all those greenhouse gases & protected the environment though which is now the most important thing apparently.

Staggering. I live in Leeds so didn't see this, but I can't believe the audacity of the Chronicle putting a political wraparound front cover and destroying any sense of neutrality for any party. But the tories?? really? wow. Shows the desperate redundancy of local newspapers. Complete anachronism and trying to pay the bills. Very sad.

The internet is destroying the newspaper industry so surely you can see why they'd do it? Jobs are at stake.

The cash cow that used to be property, motors and job advertising, have all but moved online. Even your local council that used to take several pages for recruitment ads, now advertise on their own websites.

Add to this falling circulations (reducing ad rates), with more people getting their news online. The industry is on its arse.

People saying they hope the Chronicle goes the same was as the Sun in Liverpool. Realy? You want your only local independent newspaper to go bust, with the loss of a fair few jobs. Where would you get your local news from then, facebook?

I do hope it goes the same way. My dad (an ex miner) yesterday having bought it since he could was distraught and angry and won't buy it again. Not empty words he hasn't been n Oakwell since the strike after the actions of the club then.

People have short memories. I appreciate what you are saying about the problems facing the newspaper industry I wrote casually for quite a few that have gone out of business. If you have to stick the finger up at the community to serve to survive then it's probably not worth surviving.

It's got nothing to do with representation and everything to do with them being a business. Nobody is forced to read it nor will it change the view of most who read it. If the front page is so offensive then take it off.

Provided it's legal then as an independent business they have every right to take money and print an advert. I haven't bought a copy but I believe there is also a Labour advert in the paper.

I honestly think they've wasted their money but I can understand why they have done it.

Everything you say is true, but it could be a bad business move on the long term

How many people does the chronicle employ? Ignoring newsagents etc who have jobs linked to it. What kind of numbers are employed directly with them?

Labour closed more mines than the Conservatives but everyone forgets that, why does everything have to be party political?

The Chronicle owners have always been biased to the Tory view.

It looks like Silkstone in some pics. Well publicised wherever it was.
