Went past it on the train yesterday, got to be honest I thought it was a leisure centre. Still I hope they get back into the league
I'm chuffed to bits for them. I love Scarborough as a place and we are seriously thinking of living there in the future. Do you remember the pre season game there many years ago, it was a warm sunny day and the area was plagued by little black flies. Anyone wearing yellow, or whatever colour it was, was coated from head to foot in clouds of insects. If I remember rightly it was the season we signed Gordon Owen and he played in the Scarborough match on his debut. This was about 1984. The saddest thing about Scarborough FC has been the state of their old ground over the last few years, from a decent little, old fashioned place to a decrepit, sad, weed ridden, rusty old site, now demolished and behind builders boards, due to become a supermarket or houses. Glad they are on the way back.
It's great to see the famous old Club thriving again. When I was at Thorne Colliery in the old Yorkshire League we played against Scarborough on our ground. It was around 1986/87. Our pitch was like a billiard cloth and they played us off the park. It's hard to comprehend now but as well as picking the team their Manager that day even drove their mini-bus. Didn't realise until he joined Notts County a couple of years later that it was Neil Warnock. He even was having a go at the match officials even back then.!
I was at the pre season game and remember those flaming corn flies! 1 1 draw and Brendan scored for us if I remember right. Must have just signed. It was about 1990 Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
My mate went to their first league game when the wolves fan fell through the roof onto the terrace. He said wolves fans were horrible that day, giving it the Billy big ********. Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk

Part of that ground is looking quite well 80 miles away in Featherstone Both the stand behind the sticks and the one the photo is taken from were transported, modified and rebuilt
Went yesterday and had a smashing day out except for the score. Sent from my iPad using Barnsley FC BBS Fans Forum
At what point could the two clubs be comparable apart from the Yes both clubs went into administration: one went bust because it was a small club that exceeded expectations, a club with very little football league experience and a small fan base. Barnsley however (despite our alleged tinpot nature) were a club with a decent fan base and a long standing football league history ( mainly in the second tier). I never ever felt we would 'go under' at the time and we are still here despite the ludicrous shenanigans of the 'take-over'. The two clubs are/were incomparable. Therefore the "whingers" are still here making reference to recent perceived disappointing decisions made by our club, ones which are certainly not without substance.
