    Never gave less than 110%. My lad has still got his Ooh Gerry Gerry "T " shirt somewhere in our
    loft, together with home programmes, Chronicle, Green 'Un and Sunday newspaper from
    the Season before we were promoted and the sole Season we spent in the Premiership.

    I keep meaning to get up there and find them. They'll make great reading and bring back some
    happy memories. Sadly Tags wasn't part of all that having moved to Bolton a couple of seasons before
    we went up. A great servant and like Brendan O'Connell still has a massive soft spot for the Club as we learned when
    they had a pint with us and John Dennis in the Hilton Hotel prior to the FA Cup Semi at Wembley in 2008.

    Played part of the season with that cast on his arm as I recall. Fans held Gerry in high regard and
    the Club shop started selling "dummy" arm casts for supporters to wear, which they did in good numbers.

    When he joined us he was only 20 years old which back then could have appeared to have been a gamble
    but credit Mel Machin who had been his Manager at Manchester City who had the foresight to know what he
    was bringing in. Bit like now as well. Signed him for peanuts and then sold him to Bolton some five years later for their
    then record fee of £1.5 million.

    Never knew that. We would have still made a healthy return on what we'd paid for him I
    would imagine though.?

    I still feel them man love for Gerry.

    When Matty James got running last season I thought his running style was quite Taggart-esque.
