Went to Pasha on Market Street last night. What a magnificent place it is! Some very decent restaurants in town these days, very refreshing.
Saw you and your wife there a couple of weeks ago. We've been twice and were impressed. We also like the Lemon Tree (for older readers used to be the White Hart)
Last night I took both my wives and we had a right laugh with the staff who are brilliant. Lemon Tree is another top place too, as you say.
So two Turkish restaurants with pretty much the same menus, not exactly a cornucopia of choice. They're ok, Barnsley still poor for restaurants though.
The Lemon Tree is a bit different to Pasha in my experience, but each to their own. I don't think it's as bad as a few years ago - the new Italian on Peel Street is supposed to be really good (although I've not tried it yet), and Puccinis on Dodworth Road is great. The Secret Italian near Town End is booked up at weekends until Christmas, and the Polish place on Eastgate (Passion Food) is delicious, although it's tiny. I also like the Aroma Bar in the Arcade which does tapas and themed evenings from time to time. All in all I think it's not too bad.
There's always someone that has to have a dig or bring to Tarn down, a nice positive thread about Tarn spoiled, tut tut.
