Thought the lad did well when he came on. Got his head on everything.

I'd have to agree only mistake he made was not picking his.man up on the corner when Davies saved well. Apart from that did well.

Bar one mistake he seemed ok. Which is a step up from recent displays. Got some pace and athleticism.

Perhaps 3 games without McDonald will let Hecky decide who is best out of Lindsey/Jackson and Pinnock.

I completely agree. Was abit nervous when seeing him come on but as you said won his headers. Couple of misplaced passes, although I think that was a theme today in the barnsley team.

If the rumoured fee that we paid was accurate, then the coaching staff must really see something in him...

Perhaps three games without McDonald will let Hecky pick his best two centre backs.

McDonald doesn't deserve a place on merit, and he hasn't look great this season so far to me.

And he isn't a captain. Davies does more leading than McDonald most games.

    I'm with you on that.

Big fan of McDonald. Thought he stepped up well from non league last year. Whether it's gone to his head, or being the experienced centre back, I'm not sure but looks a shadow of that player.

He's out for a few weeks now. So pick opportunity for Lindsey, Pinnock, Jackson (assuming no new signing) to step up and make the 2 spots their own.

With Fryers, Yiadom, Cavare still to come in at full back I think defence will slowly be sorted out and improve.

It's the midfield for me that looks a long way off championship. A suitable CM would be on my urgent list if I was Hecky.

Someone said this guy couldn't head a ball. You could have fooled me. Comfortable on the floor too. The next Rio Ferdinand.

He didn't win any headers in the cup against morecambe so it's encouraging he has done today, I agree very good on the floor

Sorry but I must disagree .
Pinnock won a lot of headers v. Morecambe albeit not in the Robbo style (more evidence that we should have pushed the boat out to keep him)
until the M cf started to out muscle him which unfortunately happens to all our ch including Robbo .
But he does look a prospect .
    Fingers crossed .

Some other posters have mentioned Pinnock, Pearson and Yiadom could and have played centre mid as this is our weak point of the team I'd like to see Pinnock there for a tryout because we need someone big strong can tackle and play the ball and doesn't have to win every header there just some.

I thought Pinnock did really well when he came on. He steadied the ship and looked comfortable under a lot of pressure.
I'm still wondering how on earth we only managed to lose that game 1-0, so I'm going to take that as a positive because they absolutely battered us.
