but he did give his all, not sure if he had an off day or if their defenders did a good job on him. But he was not very effective at all

I don't think Adam struggled as such...I do believe they had done their homework on him and for that reason kept his threat level low.

Ugbo isn't suited to playing on his own up front and neither is Bradshaw. Ugbo seems best when linking up with other players and then running onto to through balls. All he had today was countless long balls played up to him and the best he could do was attempt to unsettle the defenders as they headed away. We seem to be needing to play with 5 across the middle at the moment. But unless our wingers and attacking midfielders can continually support the front man, Ugbo, Bradshaw or whoever is likely to look very isolated and increasingly frustrated. It's a tough one. I would always prefer 4-4-2, but I'm not convinced Hecky will play that for a while. A lot might depend on getting the right balance in midfield.

Ugbo is definitely not a lone striker has neither the experience or strength imo was totally marked out of the game today but still early days in his development.

Unfortunately, I agree about Ugbo today. I don't doubt that the lad will have ability with the ball at his feet, but everything was played to him up in the air today and their two big centre halves almost treat him like he was invisible. Not his fault, but it felt like we played with ten men most of the match. Was amazed when Bradshaw came on and it was Hammill they took off. I can only assume he'd had a knock, or Hecky realised Ugbo needed a partner up there to be anything like effective.

Fair enough, when the opposition do their homework and mark a player out of the game, we cant have many complaints. At this early stage I also dont think Ugbo is up to being on his own up front, especially at this level.
I dont rate one up front, but Bradshaw wasnt exactly doing much wrong in those recent games was he ?.

Solid and steady. Didn't pull any trees up.
Thought we came under more pressure after he's gone off.

Really pleased for Potts to get off the mark today honestly think he could get double figures for us this season.

Ugbo needs a partner but I'm not convinced that we have the strength in central midfield to go with 2 up front unless we go 3-5-2 wing backs.

He was poor but doesn't look to have the physical attributes to be a loan striker. If you played him off a big target man he would thrive IMHO.

Bradshaw has been really good I think on his own up top. I think we should stick with him on his own as long as we play 1 up front. That is until Hecky thinks the midfield is strong enough to play with a 2, at which point we can go to 2 up top. Bradshaw and Ugbo linked up well against Morecambe; despite the weaker opposition, that's a good sign

Hard role to play up front on his own ,he doesn't win many headers , so will be best played with two up front

Yer right - I think Ugbo and Bradshaw are not suited to playing as single strikers.
How many times do we see the ball lumped upfield to the lone striker only for it to be picked up by the opposition defenders enababling the opposition to come straight back at our defence.

Just a point - it's unlikely that Hecky will be able to play 442 because the strikers he has got are all of a similar type.
We haven't a target man at the club.
Which is forcing Hecky to play 451.

It's due to the quantity of midfielders and wingers we have that we play 451 we also have mcgheehan and mallan to add to Moncur Potts Gardner and Williams. I sure they will give Thiam a couple of games as lone striker then pick who's done best out of the three. Bradshaw got a run of games did nothing wrong, Ugbo getting his slot now Thiam just working out what's going on.

No 20 goal striker this year our goals will come from midfield and the wing and unless hammill starts knocking a few in he'll end up on the bench as Barnes and hedges have chipped in with goals.

I also think we will see a lot of rotation as hecky likes to play a fast paced high pressure game and the players will need to stay fresh and fit.
