Personally I hope he never plays anywhere else and becomes the next Bobby Hassell. In fact, I hope the pair of them battle it out to become the next Rimmo.
His attitude this season has been 1st class, total different player from the one last season, realising that there's no substitute for hard work in a hecky side & he is working as hard, if not harder than everyone. The way he covers & supports the full backs is great, as well as making an impact in the attacking areas. It also helps when we have plenty of wide options, helping to focus his mind, but all the same, well done to him, deserves all the goals & credit for his attitude, seems to be relishing the challenge.
The club were ready to give Yids a lucrative new deal so in my opinion Hammill has earned a decent and lengthy contract to see out his playing career at Barnsley.
I get the point but there's no reason to do that really other than it would give Adam that peace of mind that he's here a year longer (I don't think he'd struggle to find a club anyway, though) For all intents and purposes the current contract is already that year longer unless the club decide otherwise.
